Its very... Gunstar - if you're familiar with that splinter setting

and I can understand wanting to toss out GSPs - they were written quite poorly in 2nd edition. We can only hope they'll do it better for 3rd, in twenty years or so when they come out for third edition.

ya the 1st vs 2nd vs 3rd edition debates still rock on, on various forums

I'm a solid 2nd edition fan - though I did back 3rd to get the fancy hard-cover rulebook and cloth print map.

but I don't think I'll start any 3rd ed games until they release alchemicals for 3rd ed - so... in 20 to 30 years?

nah - not patient, just have my favorites

and the magical mats dont "belong" to autochton... or anyone... plus autochton is a primordial - shit just works differently for him

plus I don't ascribe as much steampunk to alchemicals (they its undeniably there) - I run with more of a Tron aesthetics.

Fair enough

It takes effort to mix techomagic into exalted - IMO the easiest way to do that is to run a game with alchemicals in creation, and then just keep their powers on the down-low via their "you look human until you use robo-powers" charm

but ya - its takes effort to blend technomagic into exalted, effort that can usually easily be spent on developing the story and setting instead

fair nuf - I love alcheis since with the Compass of Celestial Direction:Autochtonia (all 4 parts) then authochton is one of the best fleshed out settings in 2nd edition. There is so much shit to draw on there

...also, as a mechanical engineer, then daddy likes himself some robots

but ya - I can see how its a questioning of aesthetic preference. I tend to spin the technomagic as very... I dunno - flavor text? My players are acting like reasonably generic D&D murderhobos (Oh, if only they would stop recycling pets) and while they seem to be quite down with the machine-being of their characters, then they all take it in stride as they battle spirits, ghosts and zombie legions.

When the most powerful hekatonkhire, created by the assembled Deathlords, attacks the Loom of Fate, the Five Maidens (Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter and Saturn) protect their treasure, calling for help Luna and the Unconquered Sun. Together, the most powerful gods of Creation join their incredible powers to face and slay the necrotic abomination.
