I really love this animation.
I'd say that your pain was absolutely worth it, the stringent way the face is put together is really awesome and adds to the "creepy factor" of this dragon...

i hate the actual lining/coloring part. it's really hard to keep consistent. you mess up one frame an then you're like 'well fuck'

oh man ps is a bitch when it comes to animation,, i took summer classes at the local college a while back (which taught me absolutely nothing) that used ps, but the college didnt buy any fucking tablets so we had to animate with mouses, and half the class couldnt finish their project because ps was so confusing and nasty
