xD A week ago, I heard that 80's song called "Message in a bottle" (who was singing that again...? The Police...? Or Sting...?).
Anyway, I thought the title was too cool for not using it for a picture, and this instantly appeared in my mind. It doesn't "relate" to the song, just to the words of a "message in a bottle"...
I guess I could have put more work and more effort in this picture because I really liked the idea; but lately I really have no time for drawing at all, so I just tried to make a little *something* at least and have fun, instead of forcing myself to do something boringly long and complicated to draw... and anyway I will have plenty of new ideas when I finally have time for drawing... xD;;
So yes, it could have used some refinement. But I don't have the time. :3
Apart from that, I pretty much like the result, though I guess that many people will find it too simple.
Yes, my skills at drawing hands and feet could definitely use some work.... but who cares, hands and feets are so overrated nowadays. (xD J/k).
At least I tried!
I hope you will enjoy this! I don't think I'll have much stuff to submit in the next few weeks (but who knows), so...

:/ No, I haven't given anyone permission to make icons out of this one... there are plenty of people out there who just grab my work and make goodies out of it, which gets really annoying at some point.
But sure, if you're using it for your personal use, you can use it for your LJ header.

Aw, I really love the concept of this, and oh I heard of the song before.. good song X3! I like the colors and how they are distributed throughout the picture XD, and the blood 'I Love You', and also the design of the dress X]! I also really like how you don't use the computer that much for your artwork X3, aha but nowadays the majority uses the computer, but your art is awesome without it

The girl herself has a haunting beauty to her and I love her outfit, as well as that darke fringe of lashes you seem to specialize in. How do you do your lashes? They are always so dramatic. And I like how you did the bottle, though the bottom of it seems a little off. I can tell what the shape is, it's just a little odd. Tell me, do you have any hints for painting glass? It can be quite hard.

For the lashes >> I just draw a thick black line against the edge of the eye, then add many little lashes with a very thin pen.
For the glass >> I'm not too good at it myself... It's all about doing the light reflections right, and that all depends on the shape of the object.
