I found this old, unfinished picture while sorting my drawings. A few of you may remember that I showed WIPs of this back in... 2009? That's how long it's been taking dust in my junk...!
I thought I would finish it, for old times sake. Let's make it a sort of tribute to those of you who have faithfully followed my work through all these years!
Limited edition fine art prints are available directly from me on my Etsy store .
Markers and acrylics on watercolor paper. Time taken: pretty much forever.

I've been a fan of your work for ages! Everything you do has such a wonderful, intriguing, even a little bit eerie feeling in it. Your art really fills me with awe!

Since this is "kind of a tribute" ( ) IΒ΄ll say here: YouΒ΄re one of the most unique artists I ever encountered - and I count Rembrandt and Monet in - and I am constantly inspired and moved by your imagination and your skill! Thank you for sharing on dA! IΒ΄m very glad I found you here!

I really like this, reminds me of how much my bed is like my nest. Expectantly when it comes to drawing and working on my computer.

Oh my. I love how surreal of a picture this is. The perspective makes me all dizzy; it's great!

Creepiness? I liked the idea of monster birds trying to attack her small safe haven.

Interesting, it wouldn't have occurred to me, although I guess it's consistent with avian behaviour and making the skeletons does make it creepy. I wrote a short story a while back, in which a young woman is transformed into a bird-like creature, and is aided by Canadian Geese. Perhaps I need to revisit that idea
If you'd like to know more, the beginning is here: [link] but the geese only appear in the third post.

I my gosh! Did you do the textures on the background traditionally, or with photoshop?

KmyeChan In reply to MarieFriedrich [2013-04-04 09:09:20 +0000 UTC]
Traditionally, mostly with acrylics + masking fluid but a bit of watercolors and pencils as well.

Just came up with you. Do you have any tutorials? And if you don't, do you tend to make one? I think that as a traditional artist I will happy to see it from you!
