Description A map of the planet Vulcan from the Star Trek series

The planet itself is canon and belongs to Roddenberry. However the coloring of the map and bounderies between various states are all by my own hand.

The planet itself is divided up into a total of 11 different states

1. Xial: A completely landlocked region. However, despite this fact, it was considered a strategic location between the great cities of ShirKahr and Vulcana Regar and is often considered the breadbasket of Vulcan.

2. Han-Shir: This is the largest land region on the planet and contains three major population centers that included Da-leb, Kwil'inor and Vulcinis. In addition, by the west coast of the Voroth Sea was the T'ralor Preserve and also possessed a large central desert called Go'an.

3. Kel: a barren and desolate land in the northern regions of Vulcan. It is the space that connects the Continent of Han-Shir and Na'Nam together.

4. Xir 'Tan: The region was the msot tectonically unstable landmass on the planet with frequent earthquakes along with over forty active volcanoes among its jagged hills. The island of Xir'tan was too unstable for permanent homes for more than a handful of Vulcans but the constant seismic activity also made it an important source for metals as well as minerals.

5. Khomi: This region bordered that of Shi'al on the south and was noted as being a smaller province. Beyond the Llangon Mountains, the area consisted primarily of flat and barren hardpan which were cracked and canyoned by the strongest tectonic activity of any region on Na'nam. This made living there somewhat difficult due to the earthquakes but the large mineral deposits that thrusted up through the mantle in the barren region made it a worthwhile position for work.

6. Gol: It was located to the southwest corner of Na'nam and was below the provinces of Raal and Xial. The area was bordered to the west by the Straits of Ha'zen which was a shallow channel of water that was between Na'nam and the island continent of Xir'tan. There were only a few small settlements in the area with thin strips of arable farmland dotting the coastline. The majority of the area consisted of untamed desert wates that was unrivalled on the rest of Vulcan.

7. Raal: It occupied the western edge of the continent of Na'nam and included most of the navigable coastline along the Voroth Sea. Raal was one of the most geologically stable locations on the planet and contained a number of old settlements. This region held both the Fire Plains and the city of Vulcana Regar was largest population center.

8. Shi'al: This region was a region noted for its contrasting features unlike that of Tat'sahr. As it was on the equator, it was known for several different forms of climate. By the northern border with Tat'sahr, harsh deserts made up the region known as Cheleb-khor. On the east, there was a terrain of rolling hills which run down to the Thanor Sea.

9. Kir: Located on the eastern equatorial area on Na'nam, it was situated directly east of Shi'al and extended southwest to the borders of Khomi. This region contained a variety of ecology with temperate lowlands that were present on the coast of the Thanor Sea as well as an arid grassland beyond and a broken volcanic plain that radiated out to the north as well as the west of Mount Tarhana. The province of Kir was represented the average daily life on Vulcan as it held within its boundaries the estates of several of the Great Houses on the plane

10. Tat'Sahr: It was the northernmost region on Na'nam continent where the climate in the northern area near the pole was a bit cooler compared to the southernmost areas of the area near Xial. The terrain in Tat'sahr by the central and southern parts consisted mostly of hills and mountains. As some of the metal deposits in Vulcan were locked deep within the mantle, the warlords often came to see metals as being an important resource which were present at such locations. Despite the dangers presented in such areas, these regions often had entire communities built by their respective warlords in order to be near the active volcanoes where the ores were mined and smelted which was brought in by the lava. As many of the warlords considered water being as important as water, the control of these active volcanoes often became one of the resources that was fought over during the Age of Antiquity.

11. Na'Nam: Both the name of a continent on Vulcan and a state that borders with the states of Tat'Sahr, Raal, and Kel. Mostly rocky desert however there are a few medium sized settlements towards the southern region of the state.

"Nicely Done!    ...And I really Like Your use of Colors too.       What materials did You use?   Did You use Colored Pencils to achieve those shades?"

I am glad that you like it.

I just used a map of Vulcan, some colored pencils, and a scanner app on my phone.

I am glad that you liked it. I figured it would also help make our project a bit easier if we had some visual aid.
