Here's the specs:

As you can tell, I take pride in this truck/SUV. The thought has crossed my mind as of possibly buying it from my dad.

The positives:

The 2.8L V6 is the one dark spot on the 1st Gen S-10 Blazer's history. Other than that they are great trucks! Is the engine original though? 270K on an original 2.8L is very good. Does it have a posi-traction or locking rear differential? My dad had a black 1993 2-door S-10 Blazer Tahoe 4x4 with the 4.3L 200hp V6, 4-speed auto, and I think it had a 3.42 posi rear. After typing this comment, I looked at the date and realized I was 15 years old and still in high school when this was posted to DA lol. Now I am 23, driving a late model Toyota pickup, and looking for an S-10 Blazer of my own! Great picture!

The engine was NOT the original. It was around 150K we had to put a whole now long block assembly in and the transmission, oh ho, had to be rebuilt at least 4 times during the families ownership. And I couldn't tell ya the specs in detail, but she was mostly all original. Sadly, Cancer got a serious grip on her and she's gone to the big junkyard in the sky back in late 08 or early 09. I had a Cavalier for a short time. But shortly afterwards, I began to miss the space and 4wd that I had with the Blazer, so I sold the Cavalier and got a 1998 Subaru Legacy Outback Wagon with a 2.5 Liter EJ25D Boxer 4. If someone were to give me a fairly decent 1st gen S-10, I'd probably take it for the Nostalgia and because I loved that old gal. Words cannot explain the tears I wept when I handed over the keys to her. I kept the spare set, and I keep them attached to the spare set for the Subaru.

Actually, it was 5 speed. 4 gears and somewhere in the middle of 4th, the transmission would lock the torque converter, making a somewhat 5th gear.
