Description Ahem... This happened while I was watching one of *Kearra 's livestreams... The subject in the chat somehow turned to one of the foods you have to taste at least once in your life. Poutine. I might have had something to do with it. XD

I am French-Canadian. (Surprise!) And I'm thinking on doing a series of these little explanatory comics. Knight-Chibi will be helping me while he waits for the start of his grand adventures.

I've promised drawings to some of my friends, but my slump hasn't gone away yet. I'm afraid the awesomeness would suffer if I completed them now.

Anywho. A way to tell if a francophone is Canadian or French is that the Canadian will make a quick "ts" sound when a word has an "i" following a "t" (for example: Poutine, cantine, Sept-Iles) while the French will make a dry "t" sound. That's why it's pronounced "putsin".

Now poutine's invention was in Québec, Canada's only francophone majority province, and the exact date, and inventor is not really clear. Wikipedia has an explanation, but even there, it's not really clear.

Jean-Paul is a fictional character, any likeness to a person in real-life is purely coincidental. Chez Jean-Paul is a fictional chip wagon, don't go out looking for it. XD

Don't panic, poor little Knight-Chibi had some help to finish that huge poutine.

And if you've seen (YouTube) EpicMealTime's Angry French Canadian , one of the star ingredients is poutine. The end product is gut-churning yet oddly appetizing, but a normal French Canadian would never eat that. XP

Next time, I'm *caw* explaining tourtière. XD

Holy crap, I'm in love with the stuff.

Haha, you should show this to them. XD
I drew this to show a bit of my culture to friends of mine from other parts of the world. They have to know of the delicious goodness of poutine. XD

Ah!

looks delicious I wish I could hold a conversation in French, but I've only had one year of it, so I probably wouldn't get half of what you said
