Description Name: Amru
Age: 26
Species: Dragon
Personality: Confident, Helpful

Amru is my Fursona and pretty much represents me and my arts. Amru is a confident and strong dragon, capable of unbelievable feats of strength, agility, and endurance. Having extensive weapons training, Amru can wield practically any weapon like a professional, though he prefers to not resort to violence as an end to a means. Not too hard to get along with, Amru's not fond of people who think the universe revolves around them. He also tends to act brotherly towards smaller creatures and people, a seemingly big brother trait he never really broke out of. Preferring to be alone more than in a group, Amru can mainly be found within forests or jungles, liking the outdoors and nature more so than cities and the like. Just like he was from his original arts, Amru is ticklish, mainly on his feet than the rest of his body. Unlike before, Amru is quite capable of defending himself (I don't consider him capable in arts, but in RPs, yes, he can defend himself), but will allow those really wishing to play with his paws to do so (for as long as he can withstand it).

Nice shading on the wings there, they certainly look snazzy. If you don't mind me giving a bit of advise, the shape of the... (bone area of the wings, is there a name for that? >P) is a little wonky and the gradual size depletion as you get further down the wing is also a little off. The wings are always the hardest for me too, I always end up making the very same mistakes myself .

The pic you've decided to critique (even though I prefer people don't) was originally going to be scrapped but I decided to finish it and put it up since Amru didn't have a decent reference art to go by (and none of the past wing pics would suffice). Thanks for pointing out the flaws of the art. Good to know people just look at pics for that single reason, instead of just enjoying the art itself.

Heh thanks, to be honest I only seem to comment on most artwork for that sole reason, well usually anyway . (I'll bare that in mind)

I think many artists would appreciate it, since many of them don't wish for the faults in their works to be picked out by people who deem themselves critics and (in your words) comment on art for that sole reason. Most would be glad to receive a 'good job' or 'nice art', instead of 'here's everything you did wrong in this pic and how i would do it'. Just think about the person before stating your opinion would be the best advice I can give to you for future reference. Thanks.

Well while I may say I do it for that sole reason, I'm merely contradicting myself, I do not comment on art for that sole reason, if I see something that could be improved upon or offer the fruits of advise who's sweet refreshing juices would benefit the creator to excel his talents in the future. I comment like the rest of us, to point out the good and commend the artist for their talents in picture form. While I do, in your tonged, seem to "critique" what I see, I have yet to meet one who has declined the words I have present them. Perhaps I do so because I wish the same for myself, for my own work to be critiqued, though my time under this name grows shorter with the passing day. Anyhow, thank you for your own fruits of advise, who's juices shall water my own wealth of knowledge and make it blossom so.

...And the fact still remains that many don't wish for such people to point out the flaws but they do it anyway to somehow feel like they are helping. Unless you know exactly what went on during the arts, you don't really have any justifiable reason to point out issues with a pic. Mine was originally going to be scrapped, so everything you said to me is null and void since the art was flawed from the beginning (which didn't stop people from enjoying it, unlike you who had to become the 'judge' of art). If I wanted critiques, I would allow them for my arts. Therefore, please keep any comments or opinions to yourself in the future if they have anything to do with pointing out flaws or things you would do differently (All artists have different styles, so you can't really offer anything helpful since you draw things differently than me and others). It always seems to me whenever you attempt to say anything to me, you just start an argument with the things you say, so maybe we shouldn't try talking after this. Thank You.

haha too true, we're like sugar and salt we are, not too great together ain't it, though I doubt if I sprung my simple little touch up on the wings comment on anyone else cannons wouldn't be guns a  blazes on me like ya, proper tidy defences you have eh, haha.  Well I'm probably just very wrong but, I always thought what an artists goal should be, is to strive to become better, become as near to perfect as humans can get, cause we pretty imperfect beings that's for darn sure, hehe, but your right, not my place to say what anyone else wants. Praises are just praise though, their nice, sweet colourful little Jellybeans but when their eaten their gone. Advise is something greater, it stays with you, kinda like a new swanky scarf I guess, OOO I do love myself a new winter scarf for the ole chilly weather hehe. Alrighty, well if ya want praise you'll get it. Any comment from ne it'll be a good ole, Nice work, or Swanky new Fox Oc ya got there ain't it? haha.

Just don't take my words too seriously, this "one's" just a weird guy ain't it? hehe.

...And people say I'm the arrogant one... Yeah, let's just stop here. You pretty much don't understand a single word I'm saying and it's just pointless to try to make you understand. Here's some things to think about: Not everyone cares for other people looking for flaws in their arts; No one is perfect, so to strive for perfection is a fool's errand; Unless you know EXACTLY what was going on with the art, I would not put your two cents in and think you're being a helpful person. Maybe think before you open your mouth would be the best advice to give you at this point. And yes, we're opposites. I can't say I go around looking for flaws in people's art and point it out to them like some kind of jerk, hiding under a facade that I'm making them better as an artist. That's not being helpful, that's being a Troll. I'd prefer if you really didn't say anything else to me after this point. You've left a very bad impression on me and I think just walking away and ignoring you would be best for both parties. Thanks for your 'Words of Wisdom' (if you can call it that), but please, don't comment on my arts from here on out please.

That's wow...you've really taken this the wrong way... its like you've taken a well turned protrait and just graffiti-ed all over it. I barely comment like that anyhow, about it and when I do its usually helpful advise, not pointing out every flipping flaw like a blooming detective kinda confused how this argument even began to be honest, clashing of the ole personality's I guess? No I understood you crystal clear, well maybe a little green tinted on the sides, but I digress, you win. I don't want this either, I try to spare you my time and this happens. Maybe I'm the arrogant one here, seems likely, I am the weird one after all.  A wise old man once said if you win an argument you gain nothing, I love being the loser I do, got that strive to keep ya going ain't it.

Your a good guy, a nice young chap at that, you'll probably go off on another little tangent for me saying this, but I do think your just a little too serious for your own good, believe me I was like that too, just loosen up a bit, if you still care for my "Words of Wisdom. Alright go block me or stick me on your wall of trolls now, I probably deserve it don't I eh he. My just desserts for commenting in the first place ain't it.

Have a good one then, keep up the good work, and stay strong to your trade, we need more traditional artists in the pack, believe me :3. *Voop*

Yeah, enough of your 'High and Mighty' garbage. You came here, pointed out the flaws in my wings like a Troll, then you turn around and make it seem like I'm taking this a bit too seriously? Sorry, but I don't really care for your opinion (or your advice), so don't spill your life lessons (or arrogant speeches) here on my art. Just do everyone a favor and just keep your mouth shut; I think you'll avoid a lot of fights that way, given you stand on your superior artist's complex and feel your voice must be heard about how someone drew something wrong and how you would do it. For the record, AGAIN, yes, I know the wings are messed up; I knew it from the moment I took it from my scrapped (keyword: Scrapped) pile, so why would you need to point that out? Clearly when I kept saying 'Unless you know what happened during the creation of the art you shouldn't assume anything' you must've not seen it. This was a gift to all my Amru fans to enjoy, but clearly you saw it as a way to post an opinion no one really even cared to hear. I think it would be the best option to block you, but I'm sure you'd learn nothing from it. Just shut your mouth and stop answering me. I don't care for your comments or replies. If you do wish to be blocked however, please reply with more of your smart ass 'I'm weird' comments. I have enough Trolls blocked already, so adding another to that list will only take a second.

Sorry, but I do not tolerate Troll behaviors and will gladly tell someone off about it. You don't just come out of the blue and critique someone's work like you're somehow an art critic. The reaction he was given was the reaction he should've expected based on his comments, end of story.

MexicanTime In reply to KnightRayjack [2013-09-10 02:30:48 +0000 UTC]

I actually see your point. A good protest is if it highly noticeable, but that was utterly discrimination on your art for a small (yet hardly noticable, don't take this the wrong way) error.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

KnightRayjack In reply to MexicanTime [2013-09-11 01:19:20 +0000 UTC]

Well, to clarify, I was FULLY AWARE of the error on the wings from the beginning (Hence why I kept stating it was a DISCARDED ART), but since I liked how everything else was in the pic, I decided to finish the inking on it and complete it. Sadly, there was no way for me to fix the wings unless I re-sketched the whole pic again, which I didn't feel was necessary due to one rather small wing issue. Nonetheless, someone decided to point it out and make it seem they were giving constructive criticism, whereas in reality they were just being an Art Troll. I don't mind helpful advice when it comes to drawing, but unless I'm asking everyone for their critiques, I don't want people to give them. No one's perfect and some people need to understand that. I like how far my art style has come over the year and if I make mistakes, oh well. Either live with them or stop looking, right?

I find it amazing that you do all that art like with with colored pencils. Colored pencils don't make my sketches look better, it just makes them look worse

KnightRayjack In reply to SammiFoxy [2013-09-01 01:45:31 +0000 UTC]

I actually stopped using colored pencils for the much better quality of Permanent Markers. They give a much better color, but they're very hard to work with (one mistake and a pic can be ruined). Also, they cost a lot more too. -3-

SammiFoxy In reply to KnightRayjack [2013-09-01 01:49:12 +0000 UTC]

Yeah. I can sketch pretty well with a pencil but I am not good at coloring pictures traditionally. Not to mention the fact that my scanner doesn't like to cooperate -.- That's why I switched to Digital. I can finally color pictures well. However it takes me a few weeks to do an entire picture digitally XD

...'Pulled a Twilight'? I think you'll have to explain that statement to me. As for the wings, yes, Amru has always had them but they were retractable. I decided to proudly showcase them in his reference pic so everyone knows what they do indeed look like.

Ask a brony.

In short, this images.wikia.com/mlp/images/b/… became this images.wikia.com/mlp/images/f/… after three seasons. She grew wings.

But if he always had wings, then that's not the case. I honestly thought they were a new design because I don't recall him ever taking flight or getting his wings stretched out (could be because wings could be hard to draw).

KnightRayjack In reply to ShinyPika23 [2013-09-01 04:39:50 +0000 UTC]

I prefer not to since I don't care for MLP in any way, shape, or form. A little trivia fact for you though: Amru has shown up in 2 pics in the past with his wings clearly visible, so this isn't the first time he's had them out.

He's referring to the season 3 finale of MLP, where one of the main characters, Twilight Sparkle, essentially ascended to a more powerful form, with her growing wings as a result.
