You may notice the blazesister is looking a tiny bit blonder than usual, and slightly redder. This is because I may have changed her colors slightly. YOU MIGHT HAVE TO SQUINT TO SEE THE DIFFERENCE
Even though I liked the blue version too, my reasoning for the change was this: with pale blue hair she wouldn't stand out very well against the ice, plus she contrasts more against Blaze this way.
As you may or may not know "related to canon characters" ocs bug the crap out of me, so I was thinking I'd retcon the Blue Blaze into Yellow Blaze That's Not Actually Related To Blaze. So I guess now she's Blaze's friend or whatever, but the dynamic is basically the same.

For her name, I'm torn between "Halon" (group of chemicals that extinguish fire, sounds cool) and "Hera" (jealous queen goddess, also then it sounds like heraldry/blazon). And what do you know, I can't make up my mind. You know what that means...

Basically I need to be peer pressured or I'll never decide, so which name is better: Halon or Hera?

Is this suppose to be a reference to Dig Dig Dig from PokΓ©mon Stadium? Because it looks like Halon is using a game control, Blaze has something that looks like Sandshrew's face on, and she's being told to dig already.

Halon sounds pretty nice actually. Clever chemistry aside, it has a sort of French feel to it, in a scheming-lady-of-the-court way, if that makes sense.

It sounds cool and it suits their relationship, the only problem I had with it was that the reference is a little obscure... but now that I think about it, it's not much more obscure than "vector" is it.

Speaking of Shard, I wanna ask you: Since Silver doesn't have a team like Sonic or Shadow, what kind of team do you think he would be on if he were, and who would be his 2 team mates ? His team from the Secret freedom fighters,( Him, Larry, and Shard) or something else ? Β I'm asking because I'm just plain curious, and you seem to have a lot of expertise on Silver. Not that's a bad thing in itself, Silver is an excellent character as well.

Silver, Blaze, and Marine comes to mind, Blaze is obviously a speed type and Sil is obviously fly, so I guess Marine would use her glowing power-punch.
As for the SFF: I like Shard, but if Silver can't ever use his powers around Shard for fear of shorting out his circuits, they aren't a very effective team... and Larry's curse would be bad to have around a robot, I'd think. It's kind of a terrible team up actually, since Silver has to nerf his powers, Shard is in constant danger of malfunctioning thanks to Larry and Silver around, and Larry isn't too helpful apart from his curse. Plus Shard has that smarmy Sonic-like attitude, which would go terribly with Sil's temper/insecurity. Shard would tease Sil and suddenly Sil'd attack him and then UH OH FIGHTING EACH OTHER INSTEAD OF THE ENEMY. Seems to me they should split it up like...
team A, brute force: Silver-Larry-???
Team B, tech/stealth: Shard-???-???
Yeah Shard isn't that stealthy but think about it: he might be able to slip past eggman's defenses due to being metal sonic, plus he might have some nifty robot skills that'd be useful for gathering information. So Team A is the distraction while Team B sneaks in and does the delicate stuff they can't risk Larry jinxing, like hacking and whatever.

Ooohhh... So Silver on a team with Blaze and Marine would be the best choice. Agreed. That does makes a lot of sense. Plus, Silver, Blaze, and Marine all hail from a different time or place then Sonic's world, so they would be more familiar with each other because they all have something in common: that Silver, Blaze and Marine are time-space continuum travelers. What would be the team name I wonder ? Team Dimensions ? Something else?Β

Since Team Dimension is a bit lengthy... I was thinking Team Light. They all emit light in some fashion, they're all young and naive, and they're all essentially fighting for noble causes... as opposed to Team Dark, the members of which are a lot older, operate on selfish motives and consider themselves better than everyone else. Plus then shadow/rouge can drop a sick diss on them like "for 'team light,' you're not very bright" and INCITE WAR
Their personalities clashing is amusing sure, but... it's really no wonder they couldn't catch St. John, hehe

As for the SFF, I agree, but I think Shard needs more spotlight. You have a really good idea for Shard being a stealth/tech agent, but what if he was more connected to Eggman Nega? He looks an awful lot like Nega's Metal Sonic 3.0 from Sonic Rivals 2, maybe he could be Metal Sonic 3.0. (Oh no, I sense plot ideas rising to the surface. Yargh.)Β

Hm... I think they'll bring Shard back in the comic. But they might not have him be related to Nega. They'll probably have him be the same kind of thing, the original metal sonic with a new AI/paintjob. AND A SOUL *weeps*
He does look exactly like 3.0, though. So I guess if they wanted to they could have nega fiddle with the original metal sonic, upgrade him to 3.0, then he grows a conscience and becomes Shard? So he's metal sonic with bonus hidden futuretech surprises. Then I suppose he might possibly be more resistant to getting fried by Silver, since everyone in the future is psychic like Silver it's likely they changed the technology. It might even be some kind of thought-powered technology... which could possibly assist in shard achieving sentience...?

It's said a few times that Silver's powers are completely normal in his time, in his bios and stuff. The one linked on the wiki says: "Silver lives light years in the future where psychic abilities are the norm" never mind that light years measure distance not time lol
He also doesn't treat them as something particularly unusual, if that makes sense. If it was a rare ability, i'd think he'd be more like "THESE POWERS WERE GIFTED TO ME FOR A REASON, SO I COULD PROTECT THE FUTURE" something dorky like that
And idk its like... metal sonic developed sentience before but went crazy, maybe mixing technology that runs on thoughts with his regular parts would have some kind of effect that results in him growing a conscience. A bit of a long shot but yeah

I don't really mind OC's related to canon characters as long as they make sense and are well-written
When you posted that old drawing of Blaze's counterpart, I suggested that you pick a moon themed name.
I however have realized I made a mistake in doing so.
For you see, I suggested that giving her a moon name would be a nice contrast to Blaze in the way that although Blaze more closely represented the Sol emeralds and what the people of the kingdom valued, it was the moon/night/ice cold princess that ironically overshadowed her.
However, there is already a series in existence, where there is a sun princess and a moon princess, each with respective names that match either the sun or the moon. Their powers are even themed after the day and night. Both sets of siblings have used magical macguffins to vanquish great evil, and serve or used to serve as protectors for such artifacts of great power. The older sibling is appreciated more by the general public than the younger. As a result, the younger builds up feelings of loneliness. The younger, lonely one is eventually taught the meaning of friendship by a third party. In the case of Blaze, it was Sonic that taught her this valuable lesson.
In the other younger sister's case, it was a purple unicorn.

The other problem is that there's a moon related name already: Silver, which is the metal/element associated with the moon in alchemy.
I was already gonna associate the moon with the chaos dimension, since Shadow fucked up the moon with the Eclipse(!) cannon, the entire game of unleashed, the future is a bleak place of eternal darkness or whatever, and they keep returning to space for the ending levels
Meanwhile Blaze's world is like beach holidays non stop so her dimension is obviously the "sun" one. ...because like duh what does sol mean
I agree with you, she's better as a rival, I kind of hate ocs that are sister/brother/uncle grandpa to the main character on principle... I like to see designs sometimes but more as hypothetical ideas, when they're actually in play it's 99.99% like "echhh"

Personally I think Halon is better since the definition of the name is a nice counter to Blaze, and I always like those names that have a cool little reference to who they are, kinda like how "Espio" is Spanish/Portuguese for "I spy" as well as being a shortening of "espionage".
