I have never read StC so this is uninformed. It's the same design I drew before, but with soft blue green instead of pale yellow green.
I wanted her to look a bit like Amy, the way Tails looks a bit like Sonic, since as I understand it they are best friends. Her tail is like a shirt-tail, or it's supposed to be.

Sonic, Tails, and Knuckles seem to naturally assemble whenever stuff starts going wrong, despite their wildly different lives, so as a parallel I like the idea of Amy never getting to maintain team rose because nobody takes her or the team very seriously lol. They are like "you just want a team so you can be like sonic. ok i'll play along for an afternoon but i have a real life and job you know."

so it's different people every time (nearly). Often Amy and Cream, but sometimes Amy can't even get Cream. I don't suppose you can just call Big to join you on some rinky dink quest, either, you probably have to bump into him.

Here's how it probably works for sonic. Something is going crazy and sonic trips over it, so sonic tries to mess with it.
ELSEWHERE, Tails gets a reading on some bullshit detector and he's like "ughh" and rrolls out of bed and goes to the thing that is bullshit so he can throw plot-convenient technology bullshit at it.
ELSEWHERE, Knuckles feels a disturbance in the force so he takes any excuse to ditch his boring-ass island and talk to real people.
They all convene coincidentally and start working together. fighting bullshit with bullshit etc

Amy on the other hand probably hears Sonic's team is doing something and then goes "OH MY GOD I SHOULD DO THAT TOO" and scrambles to get two teammates together so she can go fight crime herself. Because she is a COPYCAT and a HACK and DEPENDENT ON THE TRENDS
