Description Not much here, just doing some development for the next challenge. The idea is to have Rory enjoying gorgeous New England scenery, while tying up a difficult loose end. Which of these poses do y'all like?

I'm really liking the upper middle, where he's sitting on the ground with the shovel. You can feel his pain, but he almost looks like he's meditating looking out over the scene. I really love Rory though. I’m always looking forward to seeing more of his story! C:

I really like this character his story and personality fit all together perfectly. Out of these I have to say his little battle pose with the rifle is my favorite. But they're all really great you have a lot of talent.

the top left sketch would make a great figure for a painting, though it doesn't really identify as the character, so it depends what you want.
the burial is my personal fave ^-^

Love the autumnal colours in the top right. Great drawings, you get a real feel of his personality through these

The one that sticks out the most to me is the burial scene. He's trying to keep himself so together, it's a really hard hitting moment. I love these poses, they look great. The reflections on the water~

I'm bad with words sometimes.

The one of him sitting on the rock speaks most to me. At first I thought of the one with the grave, but I figured the meaning of the piece should be to convey that he's had a difficult time, but he's moving on. The fact that he's sitting kind of conveys a weariness, a vulnerability. But the fact that he isn't watching over the grave conveys that he's moved on, and just simply resting before he has to take up arms and fight again.

That's true, and it helps keep things more in the spirit of the "landscape gazing" - in most of the others, he's more preoccupied with his other business than his surroundings.

Thanks for your thoughts!

My favorite is the hat in hand one.

I like the three on the right (sitting by lake, hat in hand, and leaning on shovel). He looks really exhausted, both physically and emotionally. I can't imagine what it would be like to get old and watch your own personal world die, let alone the entire world around you. I'd be exhausted, too.

As a side note, I'd be kind of bummed to see Rory get zombified (though I'm always curious what kind of half-dead some of these characters would make). Maybe it's just because I sympathize with him, but I really want this guy to find something to live for.

Yeah, I'm still toying with whether to zombie him or not. It might make his story too overwhelmingly depressing... but then again that could be interesting to try to work with anyway. I'll just follow him along and see where he goes X)

I think you've hit on something with the "exhaustion" idea. That needs to stay in the final version.

Ditto, I don't want him to die

All fo them are wonderful, but the two that strike me most are the one in the upper right with his sitting down on the rock and the one with his hat off.
I'm not really sure why, but they just seem... MORE.

Which of these poses? All of 'em, that's which. ♄

They really are all rather nice, and it's great to see you developing the character so much.
