For the past few days, wyngrew all around Wynsiph crowded around and showed their love for the newly planted Nova tree. Children, adults, and even elders- everyone was just ecstatic about the gift from Last Notch! And they had a right to be, the new tree symbolized hope, protection, and alliance. The happiness in the air was so contagious, Tae and Izar decided to check out the new addition for themselves!
"Oh my gosh, it's so tiny!!" The yellow quad padded up to the sapling and looked at it curiously. The tiny Nova tree sparked in the sunlight, a tiny figure in the large stone monument that it was planted in.
"I mean, it IS a baby." Izar said, taking a closer look as well.
Taegan stepped back and sat down on one of the many slabs of stone. It was a nice day, if a little hot. He took a deep breath. The tree was smaller then he expected- older wyngrew had told stories about the huge crystal tree that used to be in the middle of town. But Izar was right, it is just a baby! "Mmm, it makes me wish that I'd seen the former Nova tree" Taegan said wistfully. Izar just nodded in agreement. "But I bet this tree will be even bigger and better- as long as we all take care of it well!" Taking a happier approach seemed to ease his thoughts. Izar came and sat down next to Taegan and smiled at that sentence.
The two sat there for a while, talking about their day and enjoying the sun. After a while, the two got on the topic of...adulting. The yellow gro didn't really feel like he had changed, much less became an official adult. He was still tripping over his paws! He was- and still is- nervous about the idea of leaving the nook and starting his own, ADULT life. It had been a huge relief to find Izar suddenly a biped the same day he fully became a quad though.
"Hey Taegan?" The blue gro started after a period of silence.
"Yeah?"
"I've been thinking... now that we're adults, do you think that we should maybe get our own house...?" Izar paused and suddenly started again, "U-unless you want your own house!! Sorry, totally forgot that that was a thing... hah." Tae thought for a second, their own house? Away from the nook? He shuffled in a mixture of nervousness and excitement. "Yeah!! It never even crossed my mind that I'd have a house without you ppPft-" He laughed and nudged the blue biped. Izar just smiled, apparently happy with that answer.
"Wooo okay then! Uhhh… how do we get a house...?" Taegan trailed off, unsure of where to start.
"I guess we need to get money... wow that's a scary thought."
"Yeaaaah… but I mean, imagine having a house near the forest, with big windows! And it'd be big enough to have pets Izar!!! Big enough to have pets and k-" Tae stopped, that was a weird thought. "...and more peTS!" Izar laughed. "Yes, big enough for pets Taegan."
"I'm worried too... but I also know that it'll be great just like you said. And uh-" Izar paused. "Well, I guess, thanks for agreeing to get a house with me, I don't think I like the idea of living all alone." Taegan smiled and hugged his friend. "Me neither."
At the end of their conversation, Taegan promised to work as hard as he could so that they could get their future house. It was going to be awesome! Now, Tae just had to figure out who needed a job to be done. He guessed he'd put up a notice or something at the nook? Or perhaps just ask around town? Well, he'd do whatever it took, and he guessed that's all that mattered.

THE BOYS CHECK OUT THE TREE!! And guess what it's jOB TIME >:3
This actually took a long time to draw(like 6 hours?), and I'm super proud of it!!! It's also my first attempt at a polished piece!
I can't believe they're so big ;;;;
