Personality: Active | Courageous | Fun-loving | Ambitious | Outspoken | Naive | Bewildered | Clumsy | Disobedient
Active
Smudge is most known for his activeness in life. Whenever there is an activity to be done he will immediatly jump into the midst of the situation, even if he has no knowledge on the subject at hand. He will perform most tasks needed and will still be a burning flame by the end of the day.
Courageous
He -due to his high activity level- is a courageous tom. Smudge doesn't let the fear get to him; he lets himself get to the fear. He will charge head-on in any sort of danger possible if it meant protecting his Clanmates and innocent bystanders. His level of courage may get him killed, though. Who knows what'll happpen to the guy one of these days.
Fun-loving
This tom has a good sense of fun, whether it be pranks or adventure. Smudge grew up relying on his own thoughts on the concept of 'fun', so he tries to live what he wasn't able to have properly as a kit. Because of this trait, he is a fairly good enterntainer.
Ambitious
Nothing will stop this tom from his goals, and he will make sure to reach them no matter how hard the task at hand is. He took after his father when it comes to his ambition, always being taught that you need to have goals in order to reach. After all, you need to do whatever you can to reach those goals...
Outspoken
Smudge can't keep anything to himself when something is bugging him or on his mind. His thoughts are constantly buzzing with ideas and opinions just ready to burst out of his muzzle. Whether it be a good or bad thing, that's for luck to decide.
Naive
He always listened to stories told by the other warriors as a kit, and frankly he ended up being rather guillible toward anything he's told. His large scale of naive thinking has him believe in the most ridiculous of things to exist such as the mighty dragon. Wait, could he be right about this one?
Bewildered
Because of his naive nature, you can easily confuse this tom. It's no surprise, he isn't too bright when he doesn't think things through. He will often get tangled up when hearing large speeches or extremely large words. Who knows, maybe you can use this to your advantage.
Stubborn
If anything, Smudge is as stubborn as a mule. He will refuse to change his own thought of mind whenever he believes it's true. If you try to get him to view the other side of an arguement you'll only get a snarky remark. His stubborness will especially show up if he is in a competition that suddenly needs to stop. It's all about him winning! ...right? Well, to him it's right.
Clumsy
Haha! Oh, wait. Ahem, Smudge isn't exactly what you'd call graceful. To put it nicely: he has four left paws. His clumsiness can date back to his kithood, and is something that just drives him to become a warrior. However, that doesn't mean he'll be a very promising one, especially on special tasks.
Disobedient
We all know how this will go. Smudge isn't one to follow orders directly if it counters what he wants to do. Sure, he follows the Fire Lord's command (out of fear/respect), but Smudge has a mind of his own. He will sneak into the border, he will go to forbidden places, and probably break some Clan rules. It's not out of spite, it's just out of curiosity.

|| WRITTEN HISTORY ||
Prior to Birth
-Cavern and Spring have been the best of friends since their kithood. They celebrated together, they wept together, and they grew excited when they were both expecting kits. The two friends would care for each other as they rested in the nursery. It wasn't long until the Clan's new arrival come. Cavern and her mate, Gabbro, named their only son Diorite. Spring and Char named their daughter Lily.
The two kits were rather distant at first, Lily being shy and Diorite being rather proud. However, Diorite was lonely, so he decided to try his best to befriend the shy little kit. Day after day he couldn't get the shy she-cat to open up to him. Things turned around one faithful evening. Diorite happened to have gotten into a fight with his mother, which resulted in him staying outside of the nursery den. How else would he avoid her? It was chilly, and Diorite couldn't help but weep in shame. What kind of son was he? "Hey, you should stop crying. You look better when you smile wide." Those were the words Diorite remembered the most, the words of the shy little she-kit. She overcame her shyness that day, and the two have been close ever since. The moons passed by, and the two kits spent every waking moment by each other. It wasn't long until Lily discovered her Firebending powers. Diorite couldn't help but feel a bit jealous of the she-kit. Lily offered to help Diorite awaken his powers. It took a while, but Diorite soon managed to prove he was a Firebender as well.
Diorite and Lily became apprentices on the same moon. Diorite was assigned a gentle she-cat to mentor him, and Lily was assigned an arrogant tom to mentor her. Opposite to one's personality, indeed. Lily's mother, Spring, soon died of an illness that wasn't treated in time. Lily was distraught, and Diorite was too nervous to help her through this.
Lily and Diorite grew distant from one another, barely saying a word as they passed by each other. Diorite wouldn't take it anymore. His friend was in pain, and he was a coward to comfort her. Diorite gathered all of his courage to reconcile his bond with Lily. He went up to her, conforted her, and they spent the night side by side. Friendship had returned.
Lily and Diorite became warriors in no time. Full fledged members weren't the only thing to come, though. Diorite had this funny feeling in him whenever Lily is around. Was this... love?
Two years passed, and Lily began to feel the same feelings toward her best friend. As this love blossomed Char and Cavern passed away due to old age, leaving Lily orphaned for good. However, Diorite soon proposed to Lily. He vowed to be by her side until the end of time, and she accepted. A year passed, and Lily soon found out she was expecting Diorite's kits. Joy filled the tom, and he made sure Lily was in the best of luxury in her time at the nursery.
Kithood
-Lily went into kitting a few months later; a tom and a she-kit were born. However, Lily began to die of blood loss, so she would never be there for her kits. Diorite was distraught, and quickly named the tom Smudge before Lily passed away. However, she didn't get to name the she-kit, so Diorite named her Lily after his dead mate. Diorite looked after the two kits with all his heart, telling them many stories and teaching them to always reach their goals no matter the cost. Smudge took these stories and lessons to the heart. After all, why not? His father made a lot of sense when teaching the siblings to be true to their goals, and so far it seemed very reasonable. Diorite was powerful and cunning; he would do his best to be just like him. Smudge constantly followed his father whenever he could (which wasn't a lot of time), copying his walking pattern, mimicing his manners. Smudge would do anything he could to follow in his father's pawsteps, and this soon led into his playfighting. Constantly Smudge would ask Lily to play fight with him, mainly when his father was about to enter the nursery den. He would always demonstrate and practice some novice attack moves, hoping he would be a bender like his father and dead mother. One paw swing after another, Smudge would eventually run out of breath to the point a fallen leaf could knock him over. His father and sister would laugh and tease him, but he would always retort and defend his own personal honor. Smudge, however, would stare blankly at his father whenever he used large and complicated words. Playfighting was only the beginning of his restlessness. Smudge gave up being like his father. It was just too complicated! The young FireClan kit know what he really wanted out of his life. He needed action! He needed adventure! And with this he began breaking rules that kits usually did. One little adventure was about the healer's herb store. Smudge once snuck into the healer's den when they were gone, looking around the weird plants and grasses that took up most of the den space. The scents were just too much to bear once he was inside the den. How could the healer live like this? Before Smudge knew it he began to sneeze endlessly, spinning around and knocking the herb store to the floor on accident. It wasn't long until the healer showed up. Punishment? Staying inside the nursery for a whole moon. And then there was the time he snuck into the time he snuck into the healer's den again, spotting a nice plant with small white flowers on its tip. Smudge pretended to be the Clan healer, giving the herb to Lily. She was skeptical, but a little persuading about how it "wasn't going to do anything" made her finally eat it. Alas, she yarped up her breakfast while in the nursery. You can probably guess his punishment on that. This will soon become a little habit of his, breaking rules and doing things without thinking. He grew more and more restless within time, but stuck with the usual things such as stories and observing the older warriors. However, there was one story that he will always remember. It was his favorite story, the very one he would always ask for when the warriors of FireClan had the time to tell the tale; the story of the Avatar. It was a bit difficult at first to gain the information about the story. Not many warriors remembered the tale like the nursery queens would. As a result, Smudge always ended up paying a visit to his grandfather, Gabbro. Not because he wanted to spend some quality time with his old relative, but soley for the purpose of telling him the story. Gabbro would rasp and cough inbetween sentences as he told Smudge the story of the avatar, but that didn't stop the young kit from enjoying the tale. He could envision the story with his widespread imagination, secretly wanting to be the Avatar the young elder spoke of. To bend all of the elements... what cat wouldn't want to be the Avatar? But for now he would need to settle on Firebending. And maybe, just maybe, he'll be able to make his way on top.
His father grew distant, however, and began to shun the two littermates. This sudden act took a strong toll on Smudge. The tom-kit cherished the moments with his son, always wanting and begging for the older warrior to stay in the nursery den longer than he visited. To have his only parent shun him so suddenly was just unbearable. From time to time Smudge would grumble bad things about his father when he wasn't around, much to his sister's dismay. Lily stuck by the tom for a matter of days, helping him soothe the inner pain that Diorite had left. It took a while, but Smudge ended up moving on from the matter.
Lily soon went ill and was rushed into the healer's den, officially leaving Smudge by himself. What could he do? His father was being a jerk, and now his sister was in the healer's den being treated. When things looked dim Smudge awakened his firebending abilities not too long from his ceremony. He would play with the little embers constantly, lighting the bedding on fire using the small embers that emitted from his will. He couldn't control it at all. Sure, it would summon on his own desire, but the flames would spew everywhere in all directions. The nest he and Lily shared caught on fire constantly, and the den would always have a smokey odor to it whenever others peered inside. Luckily the smell faded out, but not Smudge's excitement. Do I need to tell you how many times he caught his own tail on fire?
Apprentice
Fire Lord Smoke called for the entire Clan to gather around him, for he was ready to rank up two nursery kits. Smudge couldn't hear anything the Fire Lord was saying, no matter how loud and firm he spoke. He could feel everyone's eyes focus on him and Lily. Smudge's legs were growing weak, shaking as he struggled to stay upright. The Fire Lord called his name, but he froze in place. He couldn't move, he couldn't speak. Why was he so nervous? Smudge felt his flank receive a gentle nudge. He nervously looked back, seeing his sister attempt to push him forward. He did nothing at first, but after a few moments Smudge gave a curt nod and a wink in response. The tom looked back at the Fire Lord and held his head up high as he walked toward the Clan leader. This is it, he was going to be an apprentice! His thoughts shattered the moment he felt soot and ash hit against his face. When since was ash hard as rock? Upon further inspection Smudge realized he had tripped. He had tripped with everyone watching. He could catch a few giggles and snickers from the crowd; his skin grew warm with embarrassment. Scurrying to the Fire Lord he waited for the ceremony to be finished. Oh, how he wanted to get out of there and explore the large expanses of FireClan territory. He would be able to run in the wind and look for landmarks. He would be able to defend his Clan from the rival Clans. Most of all, he was going to be free. "Scoria." Smudge shot back into reality, hearing a single name being called out by the Fire Lord. He could only guess that Scoria was going to be his mentor. The warrior stepped up from the crowd, grinning slightly as she stood beside Smudge. The apprentice couldn't return any feelings toward his new mentor. Was she going to be kind? Cruel? Whatever she was like, he only hoped it'd be for the best.
Not much has gone by during his every day life. Smudge has formally met two of his Clanmates, Scorpion and Dawn. During his meeting with Dawn, the two had been staying up late to watch the stars. It was a wonderfully relaxing time for Smudge, yet his meeting was a bit awkward at first. Scorpion was a bit skitish at first, but Smudge managed to get out of htat awkwardness by making a deal: Scorpion eats a badger frog while he eats an iguana parrot. Man, how he hated that parrot! News of Dragon sightings, however, were spreading all over camp. Smudge desperately wanted to go and fight the dragon himself, but it was absolutely prohibited.

|ROLEPLAY EXAMPLE|
-Galepaw kept silent, standing still as he scanned the moors in search of a rabbit. The shrubs were scattered all over, for all he knew the rabbits were probably hiding in them. The tom twitched his ear in confusion, eyeing the moors for a second before realizing his mentor was standing next to him.
Now it all came clear to the tom. The rabbits were probably hiding underground the whole time? He would have never guessed that even if it took the entire day of his training. "That explains why I couldn't see them," Galepaw mewed, "because they're in tunnels." He paused, frowning a bit in thought. "Wait, so the nursery and medicine cat den are like the rabbit burrows?" The flurried-furred tom didn't expect an answer out of the golden tom, especially with the way things have been going.
Galepaw looked at Reedwhisker as he demonstrated sniffing the air, rather hesitant to do as expected. He reluctantly lifted his striped head, licking his chops before taking a quick sniff of the crisp, cold air. "I can't smell anything...maybe something, but I can't really scent any rabbit." Galepaw tried again, this time picking up a faint scent.
Galepaw felt the small nudge, hesitantly looking up at his mentor. "I don't know... I can barely smell it." The whiskers on his face twitched for a moment as he waited for his mentor's input.

I really love Smudge's design!
Also, seeimg as Scoria was deemed Smudge's mentor more than a week ago, I have to apologize for my inactivity and not at least acknowledging the news sooner.
I've been meaning to draw Scoria's reaction to the news with Smudge as well, but haven't found the time to do it. |D Maybe you'd be interested in an rp at some point? i would suggest one now but I'm currently trying to finish multiple others. ^^"

It's alright, we all have those moments. ^^
I would also suggest one, but I do have 15 other roleplays that need to be finished. I do, however, look forward to a roleplay between the two!
