This idea was actually inspired by a good friend of mine, . I was complaining to her that I wished the original Sub-Zero hadn't died, and how much I hated Quan-Chi for his death.

Then I got to thinking; wouldn't Tundra and Smoke mourn for Sub-Zero? Would Sektor and Cyrax, for that matter? I know that Sub-Zero's death pissed off Cyrax, but I have no idea about Sektor's feelings. I'm pretty sure he was the one that had to tell Tundra and Smoke, but seeing as an UNDEAD assassin killed him, he probably figured that it wouldn't have been believed. I can't imagine him being completely honest towards them, either.

I've given Sektor and Cyrax non-code names, because it personally drives me crazy to call them that all the time now. Thanks, MK9, I officially care about Sektor and Cyrax enough to give them names. >_<

Quiet sobs came from the room that once held so many wonderful memories for the four Lin Kuie assassins.

One of their own had fallen.

Kuai-Liang and Tomas, alias Tundra and Smoke respectively, waited for the return of their friends Hou, Fenyang and Kuia-Liang's brother, Bi-Han. The three of them had departed weeks ago to participate in a martial arts tournament. They had been hired by its Grandmaster and host, Shang Tsung to eliminate certain competitors and were expected to return before the tournament was completed.

However, only Fenyang and Hou returned, both visibly shaken by the events and their angry quarreling. When Kuia-Liang inquired about his brother, Fenyang broke down and cried as Hou took Tundra aside told him that Bi-Han had been killed during the assingment. He could not-or would not-identity the person responsible for taking Bi-Han's life, other than it was 'an assassin of Shang Tsung'. Kuia-Liang had lashed out at Hou, demanding to know why this has not been prevented, why they - meaning he and Fenyang - allowed this to happen. Tomas and Fenyang had to had to pry Kuia-Liang off of the surprisingly apologetic Hou. It took some time before he was able to speak to either man. They agreed to put a memorial service for their fallen friend, waiting until late in the night to hold the service.

"Brother..." Kuia-Liang whispered softly, kneeling in front of the small memorial that his friends built. His closest friend Tomas was right at his side, trying to comfort him as the young cryomancer sobbed openly.

In another corner of the room was Fenyang and Hou. Seeing the usually strong and reserved Kuia-Liang mourning his brother was too much for the guilt-ridden Fenyang, who sobbed into Hou's shoulder. Hou sighed as he held the other man; he knew how horrible Fenyang felt about Bi-Han's murder; and no amount of words would comfort him.
