Description
I can hold my breathI can bite my tongue
I can stay awake for days
If that's what you want
I can fake a smile
I can force a laugh
I can dance and play the part
If that's what you ask
Give you all I am
I'm only human-
And I bleed when I fall down...
I'm only human-
And I crash and I break down...
I'm only human-
Your words in my head, knives in my heart...
Cause I'm only human
(Human Lyrics by Christina Perri)
I decided to put my music on shuffle and draw and draw to whatever song it landed on.
The end result was Human by Christina Perri, and the character I ended up drawing was my new OC, Aori.
--
I've heard that the rain washes away the pain a heart harbors. That is cleanses the soul. If that's so, then why do I feel so lost? I have to hide what I truly am from those around me. Wear a fake smile, and pretend that their words don't slice into me like blades. If the rain is suppose to heal the ache in my soul, and ease the agony I feel in my chest, then why is my chest only getting tighter?
Why do I feel so... abandoned? Discarded.

I suppose this would be around the time Aori graduated high school and left the orphanage. When there would be a downpour of rain, she'd always find herself thinking about what it really means to trust someone. To leave your heart and soul fully open to someone, letting them see your scars and weaknesses. The rain gets her gears rolling in a sense, and gives her the opportunity to think more clearly.
She was always the quiet girl and never really ever opened up. As a teen, she was very solemn and held a sad look in her eyes up until she started her own life and began to finally bloom into an individual. Due to how she'd been treated and how she'd felt growing up, Aori leaves her home open for students, letting them voice their fears and worries to her without judgment. She doesn't want students to go through what she had as a child. Especially when she's there to listen and help them, when no one had been there for her.

This is a really good song - very solemn, just like the picture. Nice work!

It is a very nice song, it's one of my favorite songs to draw to!
Thank you very much! I tried to match the feeling of the song into the picture, it helped that the character fits the song so well too.
