Description
Yes finally the painting is almost finished, I just need to touch up the handle and the end of the key.I used metalic silver spray paint and a dull brown for the handle, make sure it is sprayed outside on newspaper, make sure nothing will fall in the paint when drying and you should be fine ^_^
I am sorry this took so long T^T But here is the almost finished piece.
Forgive me and hope the final picture I take will make up for the time waste ^_~

This is great! Thanks for the tutorial! I'm trying to make my own keyblade to go with my Kingdom Hearts 2 Sora the Lion Cub Cosplay! But I wasn't sure what to do. I love your mop stick idea! That was smart! I was thinking about using a light PVC pipe to make it a bit thicker than was yours is. And I love how you used the card board to make the handle. Thumbs up for that!
And paper mache is great too!

Thank you so much for this. I am thinking I'm going to combine yours with Vandorwolf's tutorial (i like the use of RIF for the handle and your paper mashe idea) The mop handle for the shaft is genius. I did not think of that!

I'm pretty certain there will be pictures. I'm going to be doing a cosplay of my own comic version of Roxas for a bit until I get my Org coat.

This looks fantastic all finished
What did you use to fill the rounded corners of the handle?

Koiice In reply to chibi-cupcake [2010-04-23 15:52:45 +0000 UTC]
Oh that was just the paper machΓ© if you stick the strips over the over each part of the card and not along the open area it should shape itself like that, just make sure that they are pulled tight over the edges so that you dont get wrickles in the paper

chibi-cupcake In reply to Koiice [2010-04-23 16:05:57 +0000 UTC]
Ohh I see, thank you for explaining that. There's no danger of there being holes in the corners through the paper machΓ© right? I've only used paper machΓ© a few times before and I don't remember how strong it is

Hey! While i wuz looking for how to make my key blade, i noticed this, the end of the blade, the outline is a crown! Not the silver part it's self, but the out line! Check it out.
