This all began last night. I had a great evening, lotsa fun and stuff; yet as I got home, I realized I was getting more and more down. Not horribly depressed, but a kind of "sigh" sadness. I still dunno why, but it might be that the University starts tomorrow... oh well. The fact is that as I just lay there, fiddling with my computer, I decided to try and finally get the burricorn face right. Well, it took only two practice head sketches, and inspired, I moved on to the next page, where I decided to just doodle the entire burricorn.I really wasn't going to post it, but I decided to try some new colouring styles (inspired by certain Deviants), and I actually liked how he came out.
Was really soothing to draw this piece. I've always found the burricorn to be one of my gentlest characters yet. Horses are a symbol of majesty and power.. unicorns are majestic creatures of untouchable purity. Donkeys are simple, gentle, patient creatures with big ears... so the burricorn must represent a simple, gentle innocence. Thus the pose, the smile, and the open arms to recieve a big hug.

Wow, you are awesome at anatomy.
There is so much definition to the muscle here, from the abs and smaller muscles on the neck, they are very accurate as well. That is really hard to get proportions right, and I am very envious of your talent.
I love how he is holding his body, you really managed to capture the curve of the spine and a realistic look to him. This is humanly possible, and your really adjusted the anatomy accordingly as well. Like I said, I am so jealous of your ability to draw anatomy.
Wonderful design on the character, I love how you think and explain them, rather than just fathom something out of thin air. It's often hard to do the research or create the time and thought to make a character.
I love the red tones in the flesh and variety of colours, plus the shadows and tones really give him a really realistic look and enhance the image as well. Awesome style of colouring
Small suggestion, I would love to see a background to further enhance the piece and really bring the colours out on him. Something simple would work, just something to make him stand out further.
