Description
Acrylic on canvasboard, 9X12 inches.A new piece, or rather, taking a break from a moderately complex painting I've been working on for several weeks. I did most of this last night while watching/listening to the Mel Ferrer El Greco film. Finished it up this evening.
He is called Alblieas, a haunter of cemeteries on Christmas Eve, where he delights in whispering sad recollections into the ears of those who visit the graves of loved ones. He consumes no food excepting the stomach aches of children, and the tears of old men. As far as spiritual entities go, he has been classified as a member of the parasiticus elegiacus family.
Thanks for looking

Well, I have to watch Mel Ferrer El Greco in the first place, then to learn more about Alblieas and parasiticus elegiacus family, and have a chat with one or two cemeteries's haunters for good measure... After that, I may understand why I'm an addict of those soft candles lights of yours...

Christmas demons, you gotta love 'em. My favorite, who, depending on your source was either a demon who enticed folks to celebrate the Xmas spirit, shall we say, less spiritually & more inspired by spirits of the consumable kind, or he accompanied St Nicholas as his dark shadow/alter ego...St Nicholas gave gifts to the kiddies...Krampus beat them. He's from the land of the Grimm brothers, naughty or nice carried some actual weight in the early tales...

I'm glad he doesn't bite.
I wonder what it would take to get Hallmark to feature him in this year's Christmas cards?

Nothing short of a resurrected Symbionese Liberation Army could pull that off. Hallmark are notoriously stubborn.

Now and then, I have been a source of nourishment for such as this; as thoroughly unsettling as one's most recent nightmare, Dr. Seuss without the happy ending...
