Description Acrylic on canvas, app. 11x14 inches.
A new piece. Dreams come as the sun crosses the equator. No idea why.
A bit of a rush on this, as a new piece demands attention.

Still midnight ne'er cheered our heart
nor did bright day's crescendo,
And tho' we planted broken glass,
we could not grow a window...
(Keb)

Wonderful quote and beuatiful piece.
You're an amazing an unique artist, love your color style and strange near uninterpretable symbolisms. Great piece!

Mesmerizing.

The humble incandescent light bulb can no longer be bought legally in Australia, only energy saving ones (compact fluorescent, halogen or LED types). Never thought I'd live to see that day.

Thing is, I don't think they make a fluorescent bug light. If all this nonsense becomes mandatory over here I'll be besieged by moths of every variety...

I gather there are exemptions for 'special purpose' lights, so you might be OK.

White or clear filament bulbs for house lights, however, have gone the way of the dinosaurs. (Naturally, there was a stampede to stock up on the old ones just before the law took effect. )

My wish for a new Friday kola piece has been coupled with my wish for a clear, sharp reproduction of same; the cowboy buddha smiles... ^___________^

Seriously? I have no idea how I'll reproduce my next painting, because the continuous pull scanner at FedEx/Office scratched the surface of my last one, and nobody develops film out here anymore; I'm sure as hell not going to photograph it with the distorted optics of my digital camera-- did you scan this, brother, or photograph it?

kolaboy In reply to SRaffa [2010-03-21 18:49:41 +0000 UTC]

I photographed it, out in the woodshed. I may scan it later. This whole thing with worrying over image reproduction is very aggravating. This is primarily why I don't (for the most part) work larger that 16x20 anymore. I may have to start using the Pentax SLR again, seeing as how this digital mousetrap is very unreliable

SRaffa In reply to kolaboy [2010-03-21 19:01:50 +0000 UTC]

I'll tell ya, the reproduction thing determined my going from 16x20 down to 12x16 for my next one, but I think I'm going to have an awful time finding a flatbed scanner bigger than 11x17... The day I get this solved, I will shout it to the freaking mountains...
