I was inspired by the speedpaints I've been watching on youtube by Remarin so I decided to try to get into painting and move away from cell shading. It was challenging because I love playing with line art, and I don't usually draw backgrounds either. I ended up having a lot of fun with this painting and there wasn't too much frustration although I played around a lot with brushes and effects because I am COMPLETELY unfamiliar with painting digitally. I am trying to get into backgrounds because I've had people tell me my art looks bland because there's no background I also personally want to get better at putting the character in a scene and really bringing my imagination to life.
