The thing is, you have to really REALLY try and STUDY aspects of drawing to improve. At the end of the day, we like drawing original stuff most, but we don't learn from that, we have to use references, that's the only way to speedily get better.

Yeah, currently i'm trying to get better with backgrounds. i'm spending lots of studying it actually but most of my attempts are too crappy to post xD.
I was wondering did you ever take art classes or something like that? (aside from internet tutorials)

no.. i wanted to pretty badly but couldn't. However, the internet has everything you need and more. Just keep practicing. Sometimes its really boring and not much fun, but it'll get easier the more you keep doing it.
