Here is my entry for dinmoney and sakuyasworld 's Travelling Merchant Design contest! You can learn more about the game here: steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles…I really like the character designs for this game and when they opened up the opportunity to design a "traveling merchant" for this game, I just had to submit something.
This is Mersa the Traveling Merchant. With her cart, she travels through the streets and sets up where it is convenient to sell her wares. Food items, potions and the random weapon are her main items of business. You need something that she doesn't have, just ask nice, pay part of an installment and she will do her best to find what you need. The top of her cart has a notch for long weapons (swords, staves, lances, etc) to stick out through when the top is closed.
She does keep herself armed at all times because selling goods on the streets can mean bad business at times.

Hey! Nice functional entry. I think the cart design is my favorite part about this. Thought she looked a bit on warrior side at first, but your description made sense. I see pointy ears, is she a particular type of elf? Also what colour sheen are you thinking? Would be nice to see her in colour, but overall nice entry (=

Hey! Thanks for replying and the comments on my entry! I am glad you liked the cart because I figured that would sell her as a merchant instead of some random NPC.
Yes, she is an elf. She would be considered a "light" elf; skin tone more white than your dark skinned elf. On your character design contest picture you have a girl with rabbit ears and a hood. She would be that color. As for her robe, It would be green tones. Dark green for the main parts of the robe and a lighter shade green for the trim. She has a shirt with long sleeves on under the tunic. That would be tan. Her boots would match the color of her shirt. The big buckles on her boots would be light grey. On her arms she has skin tight sleeves that connect to a ring on her index finger.
Her cart has a stand at the bottom that she can kick out to help prop it up when she's ready to sell her goods (think of an easel). There is a hook under neath that will hold the rod in place until she's ready to use it. When the cart is tilted forward she flips the top back so it will rest on the handle bars. There is a hook the string that is used to hold it in place. The swords wands, rods, lances, etc that were in the longer shelf on the inside are taken out and propped up against the cart.
Mersa will stand out in the front and peddle her wares. As you can see, she has money bags on her belt and a pouch that has smaller trinket bag on her left hip. Dagger on right leg in case she need to "cut a chump" trying to rip her off.
If you choose this as the winning entry, I will throw down some flats on it so you can see the colors I have in mind. Being that I have a full time job, dad and working on video production on the side, I only have time to do line work for most of my art these days. I used to do coloring (as you can see from my gallery) but I couldn't keep up with the awesome coloring people these days.
