Description

Occasionally, at the family campout in October, I manage to wake up early and get down to the Reservoir beach in time for sunrise lighting and birds that are only slightly more awake than I am. This particular morning in 2011, I found a nice cluster of gulls -- Ring-billed, a Herring or two, and a Bonaparte's -- who were in good range for getting some shots. That said, I sometimes get excited and move a little too abruptly. This is the second frame of a 4-photo series of this particular gull deciding that our relationship was best kept "long distance."
