Description aaand the 4th sheet.... this shows her rather complicated fencing/battle armor design... one that looks veeeerrry different from her first design [link]
This is because I'd had help from an artist a few years back, who updated her design some, and I've done the same here. I'm still deciding on how her scarf should go. I almost want it on the outside like a muffler, as a way to show resemblance to her mother, or, I'll have the scarf be super long like the Characters in Cyborg 009 have. eeh... time will tell... only other thing that bugs me a bit is the cloth on her waist... I may end up removing it, but it could look off..... hooommm....

I know her left hand seems odd, but it is facing the right way... the hand guards just messed that up.

In the "real" world, Vo is actually a very high ranking World Fighter.... If I were to compare her to a fighting game character, she'd be one of the overly powerful "hidden" bosses, like, say Akuma/Gouki was when he first appeared in street fighter.... and the scary thing is, there's one more fighter that greatly excels even her own skills!

Her overall fighting style emphasizes speed, strength, and traditional fencing, mixed with moves she learned while watching pirate movies.

thanks ^^ I think the main problems I had with my lineart, were the spike-thingies on the shoulders and hands

The area `round the shoulders look like they would make the thrusting motion difficult to pull off since they would hinder how much the shoulder could rotate backwards.

weeelll.. true.... I kinda thought the shoulder armor was attached more to the shoulders, than the actual chest piece. I think that would allow her to use her thrusty n' spinny moves

Well, the thing is with those sort of should guards, it's best to have them separate from the piece of armor(sorta like strapped-on armor), so that the shoulder joint isn't restricted in the slightest, but you still have protection.
Of course, you would want it to overlap a little in size so that the seam isn't visible to the enemy, making a weak point known, but not so much that when the arm is raised it would cause discomfort.

Wow, I have far too much spare time if I can research all this stuff about armor, and figure out ways of making it efficient...
