Part two
Part one:

In which Valentine discovers the Valley of the Sphinx, the future location for the Eye of Anubis clan base.

Valentine couldn't control his excitement- this place was amazing! He launches himself into the crystal blue water, and paddles to the farthest shore.
Around him, tall mountains surround the valley, hiding it completely from the outside world.
The flowing water has created an oasis; lush green plants sprout from the sand, filling the valley with vegetation.

He prances over to the nearest bush, and gives it a big sniff- smells edible. He takes the end of a leaf and yanks it from the roots, however the strong taste fills his mouth like Newt's homemade cough medicine and he spits it out quickly, shaking his head and sneezing.
Well that was a mistake- but whatever; there's bound to be something tasty somewhere in the valley- he wonders what kind of animals may have found their way up here, too.

He can definitely hear birds- birds must like it up here- he hopes that he isn't causing too much of a disturbance. It's warm, and the height creates a nice breeze, he sticks his tongue out and let's it chill in the wind.

Val stretches, running his paws through the sand, and yawns loudly.
This valley sure is nice; he could probably stay here a while.
But then Newt would worry.
He pouts.

Well clearly he has no choice, he must tell Newt about this place so they can live here together! Like a secret base! Val always wanted one of those, but each time he ever made one he'd always forget where it was. He's fairly sure he left a pumpkin in one once, too. Bummer.
