I really like this piece, however, I am a little distracted by the text, although this is original.
The techniques employed here are fantastic, I like the almost voyeuristic perspective, creeping up on the creature from behind and portraying a more authentic and personal view of the animal. The depth of field is fantastic and the vignetting helps draw attention to the dog and his posture.
I am not sure how I feel with regards to the text, it feels a bit pointless. The font is fine but it's the inconsistent capitalisation and odd use of full stops and brackets to signify the action, which is quite obvious from the image itself. The actual content of the lexis used is too basic to add anything to the image. Perhaps some more thoughtful and intense use of language would be more appropriate here. I'm not completely averse to text on images, but I just feel this could be done slightly better to improve the impact of the piece.
The tone to the image gives it a fabulous sense of how cool and destitute the scene is and the way the dog is off centre is a great piece of composition, which almost emphasises the lonley feel to the image overall. I really do feel empathy towards the subject. A good shot.
