for me, lem's "solaris" is one of the most striking and intensive book ever written and also tarkovski's "solyaris" is one of the greatest sci-fci movies..i can't write my feelings about them, so i visualised...

gosh, i would have never thought i'd ever come across another human being who read that book! i just love 'solaris'.
and you did an awesome work depicting it indeed! the colors -- red and blue -- are these references to the two suns? and of course the wineglass with the 'tendril-like' ink in it, it's a perfect representation of that spooky sea of something. and the way these reach out to 'embrace' [or rather... to 'destroy'?] that tiny guy. :]

well, i remember this particular part in the book, when on one of his very first days on solaris the 'other' sun comes up, the blue one, and the windows shut automatically because its rays are dangerous or something. i can't really recall the details, i've read it lotsa time ago actually. but there are 2 suns, that's for sure. that's among the many reasons scientists consider that planet extraordinary, for being in such a solar system.

Benimde okuduğum en güzel bilimkurgu kitabı... Stainslaw Lem'in Soderberg versiyonunun kendi kitabı ile bir ilişkisi olmadığını belirten bir reportaj yaptığını biliyormuydun.

lem tarkovski'nin filmini sevmez. sonu itibariyle biraz dinsel bir havaya bürüntüğü için filmin kitabın başarılı bir uyarlaması olmadığını düşünür.
soderberg'in versiyonu ise daha gösterime girmeden "benim filmim 2 insanın, uzaydaki cinsel sorunları hakkında değildir. öyle olsa idi ismini "solaris" değil "love at outer space" koyardık" der... sonradan izledi mi bilmiyorum ama adamda ne istihbarat varmış : D
