Description
A 40k drawing, inspired by a WWII photo of Rommel inspecting the Atlantic Wall. This was a second exercise in blocking things in without lineart to focus a bit more on value and composition.I like how it came out. I had some plans to take it further, but I've reached a point where I want to move on to a new drawing.Β

Nice that you drew this from old school World War II.

Excellent B\W. Thank-you.
P.S. he needs a pistol to inspire the troops.

Very true! There's meant to be a holster on his hip but it's a little indistinct, and certainly not motivational bolter size.Β

Not bad! Try to push your contrast more, though. You could get some really nice looking lighting with that white background against a dark foreground.

Thanks for the advice! I think you're right, I need to work on making it all pop a little more.Β
