A project for my Illustrator 2 class. Yay! This one took me FOREVERRRR!! Because people seem to be interested in my vector illustrations, here's some progress pics:I started with a sketch in Photoshop, inked it with the pen tool in Illustrator, then changed my strokes to ink brushes. The background is a texture from Illustrator.

You can turn raster images into vector ones using the live trace function in Illustrator. It lets you mess with how many colors there will be and a few other parameters. However for this one I did the inking in Illustrator and applied a style to the lines afterwards. here's a livetraced one I did:Β kookybat.deviantart.com/art/Neβ¦

What do you mean by, "then changed my strokes to ink brushes"?

If you look at the WIP [link] you can see at first they were just regular lines. Then in Illustrator they have different effects you can use on the lines, and I used a few out of the "ink brush" set to make my regular strokes look like brushes.

Ah I see. I usually use the pen tool and then give it a pressured stroke in photoshop but you can't move the pen points around like in Illustrator (or at least not that I know of). I'll have to try this.
