i finally made a map for this place! it's been a long time comingthis is the place where my story would take place, and where my friends' characters live
the specific town they live in is shaukat
the name 'shaukat' is from the native norwegian name for the norwegian forest cat, which is 'skaukatt' or 'skogkatt'. i changed it to shaukat to make it easier to say smoothly
the rest of the towns/cities are named after different cat breeds, such as korat, snowshoes, and ragamuffin
the yellow dotted lines are main roads of transport to get around the country
the name 'silvershod' comes from a poem written by Ellen Steiber about a deer named silvershod and how a hunter wants to catch this deer because it's a mythical deer that can make it rain gems and jewels, he's wanted to catch it since he was a child. the child decides that she would like to hunt for the deer too, so she tries to find it. then one night she finds her cat is missing, so she goes outside to find it. she finds it talking to silvershod. silvershod then makes it rain jewels and gems for the child, and her and her father both feel the gems running through their hands covering their house. the next morning, all the gems are gone except a small few the hunter caught in his hat.

Ahhhh great map! I love attention to detail yet simplistic style. Like, how you can tell that the trees near ragamuffin mountains are different cause of the way you drew them. And is that a castle i see up in korat? :'D
I also find it really interesting how much water plays in this country. The whole thing is basically an island and not landlocked, and many lakes and rivers are directly connected to the ocean. Heck theres even islands where cats (ahemCORALahem) live on them. So based on all this, I'm guessing that these cats in this world you created have come over their fear of water, hahaha :'P Oh, and does this ocean have a name?

there is a lot of water and it's connected to a larger land mass past the mountains, but like no one's been there so i can't rly draw it oops. and also you're right a lot of the cats have gotten over their fear, especially the ones near water. however, the ones in cities and the more in-land places haven't gotten over it so much.
oops yeah i forgot to name the ocean. i was thinking just silvershod ocean but im not sure heheh
