Thanks, man. Really appreciate it. ^_^
I have a more colorful version, but I don't think it looks as nice. It's at the bottom of the tut.

I'm still new to a lot of this, so I'm not sure what a signature banner is for, but I do know that looks a lot like Grifter and that the image is incredible. Nicely done.

Heh thanks. ^_^

Tags/sigs are to put in your signature to appear under your posts in forums. They usually represent your style, your status, or just for plain art.

I see. Well, nicely done then. That was all photoshop CS? I'm intimidated by the price of the program and hope that there is a way to get started with an older version. Is photoshop something that if I picked up, say, a version that is 3 or 4 years old, that it would be worth learning, or do the versions change so much that it'd be a waste of time?

Oh no, I didn't draw him. I used him as a base pic; it was a stock, I jsut made all the effects. Look at the link to the tutorial, you'll see how I made it. I didn't make the stock. It's copyrighted by it's original designer/artist.

Well, for one thing, they do change a lot over time in versions. But I recommend starting with something like Gimp ([link] ). That's what I used to start, and what most people did. It's like a free mini-version of PS, for beginners, just free and not as intimidating by the amount of options and complexity. Then, if you like it, then you can move on to Photoshop, or stay on Gimp if you want. This way, so that people don't go wasting their money on Photoshop if they end up not liking it in the end.

Hope this helped!

I have Gimp version 2 and have done some ok things with it. I guess I just need to get into the tutorials and really learn the stuff. I always assumed it would work a certain way and with anything if I don't 'get' it right away then I discard it. Thanks for the tip though... at least I know that Gimp is a good place to start and that i'm not wasting my time. I worried that the language of it would be all different and that I'd end up having to start all over again with PS.

Gimp is almost just as capable as PS.

The language is a bit different, though. But you'll get used to the switch. They're just a few terms.

If you want some Gimp tuts, you can try out my Renamon and Great Knight tut in my gallery. They're both for Gimp.

I'm going to have to spend some time with it. Your tuts look good and I'm sure I'll get a lot out of them, I need to at least learn the basics I think before I can start most of that. I know there are a great amount of GImp tuts on line and that I just need to get them done. And I need to realize I can do quite a bit with my mouse and don't need a tablet. I would love to do a tut for the airbrush, how do you arrange the photos with the text upload onto this site?

You copy and paste them into the tut document.

I'll look into it. There is so much to this site and i just haven't put that much time into figuring everything out about it. Seems to be a running theme in my life...
