Description 84 weeks... 84 weeks and 1 day. That's just over a year and a half since I last posted a submission...

Fun fact. *smiles sardonically*

It's about time I got my tail in gear and got this thing up.

Oh Fluffy... (or rather ) I promised this revamp over 3 years ago, which is worse even than my DNWFAAH sins...

But I don't want to linger...

For those that don't remember, (or those that didn't even know me at the time) Back to the Minor Leagues was something of my first real Sequence Story, a gift request for a dear, dear friend, who actually gets to feature in it!

Fluffy, you've waited long enough!

And, as a special treat (or an apology rather) I completely remade the title page! ...Making the rest look very outdated... Yeah- I don't really like it very much.

The original title can be found here: [link]

But, anyway a brief synopsis and backdrop:

********************************************************************

Welcome to the Glitz Pit.

A glistening plaza above the clouds, dominated by a collosal stone coliseum headed by a massive hungry statue of a Chain Chomp. The classic theme of ancient Rome was somewhat (or rather wholly) spoiled by the bustling commercial scene and gaudy new technologies installed everywhere. Holograms flashed times of matches and odds on winning, posters of fighters and ads for merchandise are pasted over almost every surface. Within the walls of the coliseum glory seekers abounded. The Pit was a haven for fighters and fans of those fighters. Among all there rises a champion: Rawk Hawk. A golden eagle with a bulging bodybuilder's physique, whether that was his real name was doubtful, (most fighters went by fairly cheesy stage names when performing) but Rawk Hawk certainly went all out to play the part. Clad in bronze armor and gauntlets and even a tacky golden diadem, he fit right in with the theme of the Roman Deathmatch. And all his bravado and muscle was not just for show, Rawk Hawk was very skilled, strategic, and powerful. However, the bird had a knack for behaving snobbish, pompous, and obnoxiously overconfident in the presence of his opposing fighters, like an emperor indeed, though in some senses sadistic, in others he was merely childish... The audience laps it up. It is these traits that make him formidable, yet loathe-able at the same time.

At the time our story starts the fighting group known as the Magikoopa Masters have fought their way to the Number 1 spot in the ranking and the group of magicians are about to face the Champion for the title. The Masters have been in the league since it's establishment, a far longer time than Rawk Hawk. Their constant failures have driven their jealous leader to a near mental state. Obsessed with winning, he plots another course for victory, a course with intent to make Rawk Hawk's a lot bumpier.

Glad to see your back
I don't mind that you're busy or that DNWFAAH is still WIP

Just because you're suddenly active elsewhere, don't think I'm not keeping an eye on you, Koopus *winks and chuckles* Still, this came as quite a surprise. Both the concept of this old favorite getting a face-lift by your improved skills, and that you're getting a bit active in this corner of the 'net. Still, good to see you're still up and about, Koopus ^_^ And smiling! *looks at the sardonic smile...and gently adjusts it to a more optimistic one, patting the koopa's head* Much better!

But enough fourth wall breakage and inside references, to the review! First off, this is a wonderful cover page, Koopus. The feature which really catches my eye and holds my attention is the liquid effect on the crystal ball, it really "flows" off the mirrored surface and looks so rich and goes so smoothly against the darkened shading of the orb itself. And Rawk, oh my my, he certainly looks tough and full of machismo, huh? *hehehehe* Still, you can see the change and evolution in your style, such as the coloring of his feathers or his more robust, more reasonably proportioned musculature (of which is not to last). I can see the why of this project and I approve your motivations, just don't put yourself down so hard, okay? Because I for one am enjoying the direction that this is going and think you should be proud of it!

Ohhhh-! This looks so fantastic! The composition is really awesome. You seem to have really improved in your days out wandering the earth; I can't wait to see more! (But... no pressure! Seriously, you're too hard on yourself!)
