Wanted a new desktop background for my computer so I went looking for a nice FFXIV pic to use. Disliking having to choose from individual pics, I decided to combine my favorites.I don't know what this character's specific name is but he is a member of the Hyur race. The game is supposed to come out at the end of September. Can't wait.
Used Microsoft Powerpoint.
Final Fantasy belongs solely to its creatures. I just put some pictures together.

But this is Final Fantasy so he'll probably have a more complex name than that.

OMG that would have been fantastic to be able to meet him in the game. No matter what class you chose, he could meet you in his town or whatever and help you on a quest or something. Argh, why didn't you tell this to Square Enix earlier?

That's his class title yes, but the actual character doesn't have a name. The player gets to choose that.

He's just a class/species you can choose to play as. You're the name who names him. So I've heard.

I think the player can give him a name. We only got it for PC here in Denmark so i can't play it but i named him Kevin.

Kevin, huh? Ok, I can see him as a Kevin. Just trying to picture you and your avi walking through town with Kevin on your head and names like Faellen or Isyviel on the heads of people around you. Bit or normality never hurt.

Just had a thought. You can use the name to your advantage. Say you're walking around in the wilderness and some other player wants to pick a fight, thinking your name marks you as weak. And then you bust out a level 50 sword (or something) and kick his butt.
The PK will rue the day he messed with Kevin.

I really want to play this game but the thing is
should i wait for ver 2.0 or just buy the game and also, because the version right now can get you special items/mounts that wont be available on the ver 2.0 OTL

But I can give some advice: new versions are usually better since the Square Enix has had time to modify, fix, and make even better. Ver 2.0 will likely have a whole new set of specials/extras but if you really do want the stuff Ver 1.0 has, then there's no competition. It's what you want, what you think will make the game much more enjoyable for you.
As for the laptop vs. PC, I don't know about that. An MMO just needs the internet and a lot of data. I would imagine some laptops can handle that.

As for his name, I think he just represents the class of character you can play and, therefore, does not have a name. That's just what I've heard but I hope I'm wrong.

I don't think he has a name. He's a member of a class called the Hyur. I'm not sure if this is correct - since I haven't played the game - but you can choose what class you want to play as. This character is a Hyur, the human looking species in the game.
If you choose to play as him, you can probably give him a name. Like I said, I'm not sure, but that's how Crystal Chronicles worked and a lot of other games where you just have to choose what species you want to play as.
Just thought I'd answer your question to my best extent. ^_^
