I was watching the circus freak episode of the x-files last night, 'Humbug'. There's a scene where Scully's being given a tour of this small museum of oddities... kind of a brief history of the sideshow. This was inspired by one of the photographs on the wall, along with the reference to Chang and Ang, a pair of actual conjoint twins born in the 1800's, who are considered the most famous in history.kind of a sloppy sketch and paint job, but i like it.
[EDIT] Alright, so i think about 70% of these comments mention Big Fish... i know, it looks like Big Fish... but that's only because, like the twins in Big Fish, these are also conjoint performers wearing red. It's not uncommon. The next person to mention Big Fish in their comment is going to have a fleet of attack-pirahnas on them faster than they can blink

was that the episode with the full body tattooed guy who ate the siamese twin of the bipolar drunk dude? if so that episode KICKED ASS.
I like the colouring, and expressions... the red is very bold and lovely, and the way the green was applied gives the impression of an old poster of sorts... good work! (although, I too was curious about the characters.. I thought they were the girls from Big Fish, but if they were the anatomy would have been incorrect~. (i asume you already know this ^_^')

This is truly an work fron the gallery of oddities. I love this mysterious feeling the work creates, the deep crimson red binded with dulled green and shades of ochre.
Love yout grungy style in this, those flowingly wild lines, that you control so ruthlessly.
And I do absolutely love those flowing ornaments on the borders too, how they twist and turn.
But somehow I don't like the red background, how it looks so harshly digital cokpared to the whole work, how it is so apart from the other elements...
The rich red was a good choice, but the digital imprint of the vestige looks so harsh in i.
Can understand why people thought about Big Fish though, the topic is quite similar... but I think this work oozes more of a feeling of the days long gone, of teh unrevealed mysteries that were still left in the world for a time ago.

it's wonderful.
and yeah, i see what you mean about the red background. it just looked so... anti-climactic with just the white space, so i kinda slapped something in there. i'll have to see if i do something better with it.

I instantly thought of Big Fish when I saw this.
Anyways, the colours are really bold and vibrant. I love the border, I think it really fits with the drawing. I also love their expressions and the lighting on the stage. <3

As an authentic trapeze artist and a big fan of your art, this made me squeal with delight for a good ten minutes. Gads! It's gorgeous!
If it makes you feel any better, one of my instructorβs old bits was a faux-conjoined twin trapeze act, and I thought of that before the Film That Must Not Be Named.

i WONT mention the "B" word....but I HAVE TO SAY THIS. the first thing i thought of was "GEEK LOVE", that book...im sorry, it has almost NOTHING to do with that book. there are conjoined twins also, but they're not asian, and they're pianists, not acrobats. i just had to say that. i know.
but anyway, i think this is awsome. the sketchiness...yet it looks quite finished. and their expressions...it says, "well, we've done this before but they haven't seen us so let's give them a half-way decent show at least." i mean i dunno but that's how i feel. i wish i saw that x-files...

[i have to admit.. don't smack me.. i thought it was from big fish too at first. xD; but.. i do read descriptions, so.] in any case, it's awesome! i love how you drew them with such character and all the anatomy twisting and such likes.. and how it's kind of sketchy and messy-ish + lovely colours. maybe the red is what made me think of big fish, but that kind of makes you think 'circus!' too. xD; their makeup and costumes look great too. x)
