Simply beautiful, but at the same time, mysterious.

How come stars didn't leave any trails for 120 min (10 min each) expo? I'm really into night sky photography lately and my no.1 target is to capture bright and sharp Milky way, so I'm looking for any good suggestions and tips..

The sharp horizon was stitched in later with processing. You can't expose both stars and horizon with exposure times longer than a app. minute. I exposed the stars with the camera guided for nearly two hours and then i used one single unguided frame for the horizon with the city lights. For capturing it without processing you have to keep the exposure time at a minimum and increase the ISO sensitivity, e.g. 20 seconds at a focal length of 24 mm: ~1600 ISO, but you need lenses with a very big aperture about f/1.4 or so...
Greetings.

Hallo,
and sorry for the late answer. I write in German, ok? Otherwise let me know and I will write in English.

Absolutely beautiful! You have clear skies, with minimum light-pollution! All these nebulae...wow!

Thanks a lot. It was hard work: 2 hours of exposure time and at least 3 hours sticking the images together in PS

Omg I'm falling in love with this picture so bad.
The millions of stars are awesome, and the milky way looks like some kind of bright illuminated heart, with veins running down the side...
The colours are beautiful..
And I never expected to see anything like this outside those astronomy books. <3
