Description
“When you’re partnered up with a rush Digimon, it's not a game anymore. It's a real battle. Takeru, this is a matter of humanity’s future.”“Humanity’s future?” Takeru asked. “Are you saying our world is on the brink of destruction?”
“No, it's not that drastic. But these rush Digimon aren't appearing by coincidence. They’re appearing because they’re being sent in.”
“So you’re saying…”
“She’s saying,” Joltmon said, “that there’s a Digimon behind all these attacks. The digital world’s leader, BlitzMyotismon.”
“BlitzMyotismon?” Akamon asked.
“Takeru, didn't 2A’s CEO tell you any of this?” Hyeon asked. “She should have asked you to meet her and talk about the RUSHvisor code.”
“She was supposed to call me? Now that you mention it, I did get a letter from her, but all it had was a map with a red mark on it.”
“We should probably go there.” Ri-en said. “I want to know more about BlitzMyotismon.”
“Hold up a minute, fuzzy.” Joltmon said cautiously. “She was there yesterday. Why would she still be there? Also, just what makes you think we’ll-”
“Okay. Sure. Let's go.” Takeru said. “I remember where it is. C’mon!” He and Akamon went running off. Ri-en followed.
“Hey wait!” Hyeon called. “Where are you going? Come on, Joltmon. We better follow them.”
“Do you even know where they’re going?”
“No, but I don't think they know what they’re getting themselves into.” Hyeon ran after them.
“Hyeon…” Joltmon said to herself. “You humans have no sense of caution.” Joltmon ran after Hyeon.

Chapter 6: the digital world
----------------------------------------------------
Everyone arrived at the scene where Takeru and Ri-en first saw each other. The place was void of anyone except them.
“This is the place. I'm sure of it.” Takeru said confidently.
“You sure, kid?” Joltmon asked. “We walked into four dead-ends on the way here!”
“Joltmon,” Hyeon said. “You don't have to be so rude.”
“It's alright.” Ri-en said. “Our home world is survival of the fittest. Most digimon don’t last long if they’re too trusting.”
“You mean all digimon are that rude?” Takeru asked.
“After what went down with BlitzLucemon, I wouldn't be surprised.”
“!!!” Joltmon was caught off guard. “Did you say BlitzLucemon?”
“Yes. Why do you ask?”
“I t-thought he was j-just a myth. A-are you s-saying he was r-real?”
“Hold up.” Takeru interrupted. “Who’s BlitzLucemon?”
“BlitzLucemon was once a kind ruler of the digital world, the homeworld of us Digimon.” Ri-en explained. “But one day, something changed in him. No one knows what happened. What we do know is that he became worse than a tyrant. He became a monster. A malicious beast who wouldn't hesitate to destroy all in his path.”
“I-I-It was brutal.” Joltmon added on. “Literally every Digimon in the digital world teamed up to fight him. It was an all-against-one war.”
“And we were losing. No one sided with BlitzLucemon, yet his power was so overwhelming, even multiple Omnimon fell.”
“Did you say Omnimon?” Hyeon asked.
“Omnimon?” Takeru didn't know. “Wait a second… I think I've heard of him before. Isn't he one of the strongest Digimon of all time?”
“He's not just one of the strongest, he’s THE strongest. But… I guess BlitzLucemon is stronger.”
“Wait a minute.” Joltmon interrupted. “If the war is over, then where is he?”
“Over?” Ri-en was surprised. “The war ended?”
“From what I've heard, a Myotismon stepped up to challenge him. He stole BlitzLucemon’s overwhelming power, turning the threat into a regular Lucemon, and him into BlitzMyotismon. After that, BlitzMyotismon became the ruler of the digital world.”
“...you’re kidding me, right?” A male voice said. “Please tell me the hero of the digital world is NOT a Myotismon.”
“Who’s there?” Joltmon asked cautiously. “Show yourself!”
“There’s no need to panic.” Ri-en said.
“Huh? What makes you thi-”
“Oh hey Ren.” Takeru answered. “Where are you?”
Ren stepped out from behind a nearby shipping crate. “I should have known you’d recognize my voice, Takeru.”
Ri-en shivered.
“...Ri-en? Are you okay?” Akamon asked.
“Don't worry. I'm alright.”
“Okay. If you say so.”
“Anyways,” Ren continued, “please tell me the digital world’s savior isn't that annoying Myotismon.”
“It's real.” Joltmon responded. “Is there a problem with it?”
“Okay wait! Hold up a minute!” Takeru interrupted, his voice sounding faintly frantic. “Let's not get into that category.”
“Huh? Why not?”
“Myotismon happens to be Ren’s least favorite Digimon. He hates him almost as much as he loves Renamon.”
“That bad?” Ri-en asked.
“Can you blame me?” Ren said. “Myotismon are so annoying! They just keep popping up, manipulating whoever they want, and they’re always getting more additional forms! VenomMyotismon, MaloMyotismon, NeoMyotismon, and now there’s a BlitzMyotismon? Honestly, he’s a vampire! All you need to do is hold up something in the shape of a cross and you can send them packing!”
“I guess that answers that question.” Takeru said. “Ren, you might wanna stop before you talk Hyeon’s ear off.”
“Right. Sorry.”
“Anyways,” Joltmon interrupted, “What are we gonna find here?”
“I have no idea.” Takeru responded. “I remember the map saying ‘trust in your red digimon,’ and Akamon showed up here…”
“Sounds like someone wanted you to meet Akamon.”
Ri-en closed her eyes for a second, thinking. “...sounds like it was a trap.” She said, reopening her eyes. “You said you were attacked by Aohmon here. I don't think your encounter was a coincidence.”
“Actually, Aohmon tried taking me down sometime before that. He could have followed me.” Akamon suggested.
“But why would Aohmon do that? What does he have to gain?”
“Digimon always fight each other.” Ri-en closed her eyes, reminiscing about her home world. “The digital world is a cruel place, following a principle of destroy or be destroyed. Its inhabitants never know when they must fight next, or if they’ll be strong enough to survive.”
“But this is the human world. I don't see why they have to fight.”
“Takeru,” Hyeon interrupted, gaining the messy-haired protagonist’s attention, “like I said before, BlitzMyotismon is behind these attacks on the human world. Aohmon probably sees Akamon as a threat, since he chose to side with us.”
“Hold up…” Takeru’s voice sounded off. “Are you telling me that Akamon’s in danger just for being my partner?”
“Takeru, it's not your fault.” Akamon said reassuringly, attempting to comfort his friend.
“I know but… if you stay with me, you’ll be an enemy of your own home. I… I can't imagine how bad that must feel…”
“Takeru,” Ri-en placed her white-furred handpaw on Takeru’s right shoulder, gaining his attention. “I believe humans have a saying that home is where the heart is.”
“Ri-en’s right. As long as you’re my partner, this world is my home! And I wouldn't trade it for anything!”
“Akamon…”
Suddenly, a loud growling was heard. Following it was the resonance of loud footsteps, the ground trembling with each step.
“W-what's happening?” Takeru said.
“That must be a rush Digimon.” Hyeon pulled out her smartphone, tapping into Digi-RUSH. “Get ready, Joltmon.”
Out from behind a large warehouse, the beast appeared. It was light gray with several parts of its body covered by what seemed like armor constructed of dark-gray rocks. It's face was heavily protected by this armor, as well as an intimidatingly large horn on the nose of the mask. With its light crimson eyes, the four-legged beast gazed upon the ones before it, turning to them as it locked onto its target.
“Yikes!” Ren yelled in astonishment. “That's one big Monochromon!”
“Monochromon?”
Hyeon summoned her RUSHvisor from her smartphone. She placed it on her face, as the band that held it in place appeared out of thin air. The data for the Digimon before her appeared. “Monochromon. A data-type champion level. It's special attack is called landslide rammer.”
“Data type?” Ren questioned with a grin on his face. “That shouldn't be a problem for a protocol-type like Akamon.”
“What does that even mean?” Takeru was clueless.
“You see, Digimon are divided into six types. Each one beats two others and loses to two others, except neutral type. Data beats vaccine, vaccine beats virus-”
“Let's save the chit-chat for later.” Joltmon turned to her tamer. “Hyeon, lets do this!”
“Hold up! Joltmon’s a vaccine-type! They’re we-”
“There's more to Digimon than just type match-ups.” Hyeon interrupted. “Let me show you how it’s done.”
Hyeon touched her hand to her RUSHvisor. A few cards manifested as holograms in front of her. Stretching out both arms forward, forming an X, she grabbed one with her right arm. “Electro-crash! Aaaand… DIGIOLVE!” She did a 360 spin, throwing her card like a frisbee, as static was visible in the animation.
The card flew past Joltmon, and came back like a boomerang. Glowing white, it was absorbed into Joltmon’s chest upon contact. The female electric digimon’s eyes glowed white as she was ready to digivolve. “Joltmon digivolve tooooo…” Out of her chest, four double-helical streams of data flowed, like a plus. Joltmon’s entire body glowed white as she began changing shape.
Her arms grew significantly longer and thicker. Her back legs became like that of a Cyclonemon. Her horns grew and curved like a backwards HerculesKabuterimon. Her tail extended and thickened like a T-Rex. Her body became a bit bulkier.
A mask manifested, seeming like a Greymon mask with three, lightningbolt-shaped horns on the back. Large, rock-like braces encased her front legs, covered with very well-pointed spikes as they came three-fourths of the way up the leg. Her back seemed to grow some kind of armor.
As the white light around her faded, seemingly peeling off in glittering light, her body was revealed. She had the body-frame of a Cyclonemon. Her dark-brown mask, with lightningbolt patterns on the cheeks like whiskers, was revealed, as were the sharp claws on her legs. Her tail was kinked like a bolt of lightning, as similar spikes stretched from the tip to the body. She opened her intimidatingly-black eyes. She slammed her bulky front-legs into the ground as she called out her name.
“...Voltmon!”
Voltmon stood, showing her teeth as she stared down Monochromon.”
Ren’s eyes slightly widened, as though he had a realization. “...so that’s why they never introduced Cyclonemon to Digi-RUSH.”
“I’ve heard of this one.” Ri-en said. “Voltmon. A vaccine-type champion level. They’re known for their powerful front legs, capable of crushing boulders into dust. Their special attack is called thunder takedown.”
“But Voltmon’s still at a type disadvantage. Plus Monochromon is an earth element! An electric element like Voltmon won’t last-”
“I’ve heard about enough out of you, cosplay.” Voltmon sternly said.
“Cosplay?”
“You know what they say,” Hyeon added on, “actions speak louder than words.”
An excited look appeared on Akamon’s face. “She’s right! C’mon, Takeru! Let’s show this guy what y-”
“Hold up, Akamon.” Takeru said. “I think Hyeon wants us to sit back and watch.”
“...okay…”
“Landslide rammer!” Monochromon charged at Voltmon, its rock-solid horn directly pointed at Voltmon.
Hyeon jumped out of the way, as Voltmon leaped high into the air. “Thunder takedown!” Voltmon called. The electric-themed beast’s front legs became shrouded in yellow static. As gravity did its thing, Voltmon came crashing down on the rock-covered dinosaur, leaving a large cloud of dust.
“Wow!” Ren was surprised. “Talk about a direct hit!”
“Direct hit?” Ri-en turned to the obsessive Renamon fan. “How can you tell?”
“It looks like it.”
A sweatdrop appeared over Ri-en’s head.
When the dust cleared, the Monochromon appeared to be almost unschathed. “Grrrrr…” it snarled.
“This is bad. Even with a heavy hit like that, Monochromon is still unshaken.”
“I can’t just sit back and watch!” Takeru gripped his smartphone, ready to activate his RUSHvisor.
“We’re not done yet!” Hyeon called out. She touched a few buttons on her Digi-RUSH app, and a few holographic options appeared before her eyes like a drop-down menu. They listed several strange names, such as ‘mach rush I’ and ‘nanomachine break II.’ Hyeon touched her hand to one that read ‘nerve breaker.’ The menu disappeared after she selected it. “Go now, Voltmon!”
“With pleasure!” Voltmon opened her mouth, inhaling as the air entering her mouth seemed to turn to static. “Nerve breaker!” She exhaled, and a blast of lightning hit Monochromon’s horn.
Static began coating the near-colorless dinosaur, as it grunted in pain.
“The RUSHvisor lets you use additional attacks from Digi-RUSH. That’s how we’re gonna beat Monochromon!”
Ri-en was puzzled. She had never heard of this concept before “Additional attacks?”
“I get it!” Ren exclaimed. “Nerve breaker is an attack that electrically paralyzes the enemy. What’s more is that it weakens their defensive power!”
“...Ren, I’m not following.” Takeru responded, sounding confused.
“It’s video game stuff.”
“Oh. I guess that explains it for me.”
“Not done!” Hyeon made the holographic list of attacks appear once again, this time selecting ‘attack charge.’ Voltmon’s body glowed light blue for a brief second, as the electrical beast roared.
“Time to finish this!” Voltmon charged forward, leaping as she prepared to deal the finishing blow. “Thunder takedown!” Once again, her front legs became coated in yellow static, but this time, the electricity seemed a bit more active. She crashed into Monochromon with tremendous force.”
“GRRAH!” Monochromon yelped in pain, as its body exploded into data.
One small, strangely shaped fragment remained, as it flew into Hyeon’s smartphone. The phone read ‘ITEM(S) OBTAINED: earthen shard.’
“Holy smokes.” Ren said, amazed. “I’ve never seen such a one-sided match before. Voltmon was at both type and elemental disadantages, and she took him down like it was nothing!”
“It was rather impressive.” Ri-en added on.
Voltmon glowed, and turned back into Joltmon.
“Great job Joltmon.” Hyeon said with a smile, as the RUSHvisor disintegrated, and was absorbed into her smartphone.
Joltmon inhaled through her nose, sniffing. “We’re not done yet.” She said. “I can smell it... someone else is here."

Well, she's much more experienced, which would make her kind of a tutor or something.
And as far as I can tell, that teacher-student will eventually digivolve into a girlfriend-boyfriend relationship,
Essentially, you get the picture.
