EDIT: Thank you so much for all the attention on this picture, I really appreciate it! Why don't you guys have a look at my other Fallout stuff while you're at it? I can do a lot better than this picture.Fallout 3 - fanart. I love Gob, he's such a sweet guy. I wanted to give the guy some love, since most people seem to like Charon.
I also love ghouls. No one's surprised, I'm guessing. But seriously, Fallout is filled with assholes, and the first nice person you meet is a ghoul. Same thing with most of the guys in the Underworld.
Experimenting a bit with colouring, I sort of like how this turned out.

Anyway, I can kinda relate to Gob. Being alone and hurt so much, having so few friends. Sad. I understand where he's coming from.

I try. I just did one today at Church for my friend's little sister. She loved it and it was one of my better ones. So right now, I try. I get most drawings done on line paper doing school and always forget to post them and shiz.

In the earlier games Ghouls were a metaphor for the downtrodden of society. I'm pretty sure that hasn't changed since then. As a natch most ghouls are a friendly face rather than a hostile one.
Still I like this image, it feels natural. And more importantly it isn't horrifying like oh so many Charon images.

Thank you very much. I was trying to produce something more like a snapshot of the character. Also, when I did this, I wasn't aware of the popularity the ghoul characters of FO3 has gained.

Aww...I really pity the ghouls in Fallout 3.
In the real world today, we are mainly judged by our appearances. Sure, our appearances can tell a person alot about themselves, e.g favourite colour, how clean they are by their shoes (if you believe that theory) and such...
But it's always best to get to know the person within.
Poor ghouls...they're automatically judged by their peeling skin and stench...D;;; 'tis sad really.
It's sort of strange playing Fallout 3. Playing as the Lone Wanderer you sort of start to get a sense of the person's morals...as if you become them in a way.
Playing as the good side, If I accidently did something wrong with my character Vincent (like shoot some random innocent beggar or something), I would actually feel rly sad. XDDD O:
When playing on the bad side with my female character Pandora, I didn't give two shits. I didn't think anything of the beggars I killed...or when I killed everyone in Rivet City, Underworld, blew up Megaton. U:
Probably 'cuz I'm spending too much time on the game when I should be revising...or a personality disorder or something. Probably abit of both. :U

Gob does need more love in the series. As for Charon, I'm somewhat surprised as to how many fangirls there are of him! No offense to Ghouls or anything, but I wouldn't expect a character like Charon to get so many crazy fans because of his rotting, radiated flesh.

No, but seriously, it's kind of weird, I mean, sure people like him, he's like one of the most interesting companions you can have, but there's slashing with Charon out there! D: At least Gob is sweet. Charon's sort of.... weird.

And to be honest I haven't seen much of Charon in my game. I don't like having companions with me so I don't know much about his personality - just that he's stubborn and he's only sticking with you cause he needs the caps. There's pretty much slashing of everything on the internet so I'm not that surprised :C

I'd probably need a companion in my game to watch my back.... I keep tripping on landmines. Raiders, supermutants and mutated bears? No problem. Sledgehammer to the face. I'm stumped when it comes to landmines. Can't help but think that Dogmeat is secretly laughing at me. >:

What? Is there some incredible difference between slash and het? Because it's starting to sound like you have a problem with the mere presence of teh gay.
Like it's 'freaky' or some other utter bullshit.
What is freaky is how despite all the popularity he receives, they still manage to completely rape what little character he shows. And how despite him being a big part of these stories, he's actually not that important. Just his status as a BAMF.
For fucks sake, about 98% of stories featuring him are het, why are you so awed by the other percentage?

Yeah, but you constantly emphasized that there's slash of it as if that's a bad thing.
Het == heterosexual.
There are so many more het badfics than there are slashfics. And when writers do share in fandoms they get reviews that ask them how they could possibly want to write slash, meanwhile that same person is fine pairing couples up so long as it's het. A very ugly double standard.

It really is quite weird how popular he is. But what's weirder is that despite that, no one ever really explores Charon's character. He might as well be furniture for what they add to him.

I think it's too bad... Charon has the potential to be a really interesting character, yet no one goes the length to just think about what kind of a person he is. >: So very sad. I think there's like a grand total of ONE author out there who's actually done a good job with writing Charon.

Hmm... Well, when you think about all the other characters in the game, none of them seem to set up that standard many fangirls (or fanboys on occasion) seem to enjoy: The fact that Charon is a SERIOUS, badass. Fans tend to jump at characters like those. And besides, perhaps it's like "Beauty & the Beast" syndrome where they believe that if you look past his hideous skin, you'll see a loving, handsome man. There are LOTS of things like that out there
