Description Feathered redesigns of four versions of Troodon found in the Jurassic Park/World franchise (left to right: Jurassic World: The Game's already feathered though still slightly altered one, Jurassic Park: The Game, LEGO Jurassic World, and Jurassic World Evolution), or just some Troodons/troodontids heavily inspired by JP/W. Status as either fanart or original art appropriately dubious.

Despite that my raptor art is mostly dromaeosaurids even of the feathered kind, Troodon formosus has been my favorite dinosaur since I was a kid. It was scaly when I first learned about it, and now it's a birb with teeth and some extra claws, and I love it all the more for it.

Dinosaur classification changes up all the time, and whether Troodon is actually a valid genus is currently under debate, with its specimens being reassigned to Stenonychosaurus and Latenivenatrix, but they can be my favorites, too/instead, then. Troodontids in general could probably share the spot on the podium, but you've got to have an answer for when someone asks what's your favorite dinosaur (a criminally rare occurrence). They can take turns.

Drawn in FireAlpaca.

Thank you! I really like the colours and the pointiness of the original design, and I'm pretty happy with my version, too.

Love all the different versions side to side like this. (Particularly enjoying the intense side-eye that the Jurassic Park version is giving off). I love that dinosaurs are constantly being debated and opinions challenged about them. It's nice to know that people out there are still doing all this research into them despite all the crazy rubbish and hate going on in the world at the moment.

(That is a criminally rare occurrence. Especially considering I am 100% ready for that question 24/7 )

I love the creatures in the game, too, it's a very effectively creepy design and scary for its size! Their nesting behavior is an interesting idea, and I think it works with Jurassic Park's theme of nature being more unpredictable and uncontrollable than we humans expect.

They have very little to do with the animal they're based on, though, and it would be nice to have the more realistic kind depicted, too, because the actual animal is a cool critter, too. Like, the series exaggerates the Velociraptors' intelligence enough it probably wouldn't stand out, but for one, troodontids were probably really smart out of extinct dinosaurs.

I wish JWE had kept up the momentum from JW:TG already putting feathers on at least some of its raptor dinos. If they need to be scary, feathers should not be at odds with that, as horror media has managed to present plenty of actual modern birds as terrifying, too.

Not quite so small if we go with Troodon being Latenivenatrix rather than Stenonychosaurus. While still tiny compared to some dinosaurs, Latenivenatrix mcmasterae is the largest troodontid currently known and is about the size of a wolf (though not by body mass, I think - it's still a birb).

Maybe not hugs, but they might like pets and scritches, if they're social enough to be familiar with communal grooming.
