That scene makes me think about the deleted "cage" scene from We're Back! A Dinosaur's Story where Professor Screweye active the "brain drain" machine on the caged dinosaurs that causes them to become more like real ferocious ones. I dunno why that scene for the movie got scrapped, but it is said that the scene might frighten the younger viewers.
