I've had this picture in mind for ages - finally had the time to finish it today! The idea of Bluebird swinging from the rooftops surrounded by her namesakes - for the pedantic among you, well, I'm fairly certain that Bluebirds don't live in cities... but then women in spandex rarely swing across the rooftops on zipwires, so I guess we can allow a little artistic license! That's fantastic, and very kind of her - that would be great! I've not really looked at prints or poster stuff before but there's a print option on DA that I'm looking into now - I'll let you know how that goes! I wasn't sure whether the swinging from rooftops thing was entirely appropriate since you've not done it in the films (for obvious reasons!) But thinking about how she got around it was this or a motorbike and this was easier to draw (although now that I think of it, the Bluebird cycle has potential!)As you know, I really like the idea of broadening out the NGC universe in ways you can explore in comics but not elsewhere - let me know if you have any specific ideas you'd like to see.

Lovely pic and interesting looking character. Makes me want to draw Jaybird lol. The detail on the birdies is especially good btw - I can't draw birds.

I drew them fair and square, just duplicated a couple and reversed or shrank them a bit, so it's not a major cheat! My conscience will let me sleep at night - just about.

i didn't know that bluebirds don't live in cities...but i was much more confused by her lack of wings
...but i guess since dc names many of their non-flying characters after different birds it's okay to do so, too

You'd feel really short changed if that was your power, wouldn't you! I can control animals! What, all animals? No, just one type. That's cool - what sort? Lions? Eagles? Er... not exactly...
Actually her power is quite novel - she has an extra energy rush that kicks in whenever she is on her last legs - a kind of super second-wind thing.
