no our rider is dressed like a Macedonian general. I'm thinking it's supposed to be Death from the Apocalypse though as his horse looks zombie-like. Thus why he's just steamrolled our poor hopilite. Hannibal is typically depicted on an elephant, and he wouldn't be wearing a Greek-style tunic in any case. Normally cavalry vs. hopilites was a bad idea because horses vs spears=dead horses. Macedonians could pull it off sometimes because their cavalry used lances, which were longer than the typical infantry spear of the time. Thus they could get the footsoldier, before he could get them. Usually though they used cavalry against archers.Â

An ancient Greek hoplite is a great idea. The picture is an excellent coming together of infantry and cavalry.
