Sorry to be bothering you with another dumb question, but do the characters who are in the competition remember what they were before they were mary-sued?
Because if they don't remember their life before becoming a sue what are they fighting for? But if they're just a regular character stuck in the body of a sue then they're not that sue-ish. I mean I guess there is the middle ground of a mary sue with brief flashes of memories from before she/he became a sue and trying to return to that world. Honestly I'm not sure why I'm worrying about this, my character isn't good enough to have internal motivation any way.
Again terribly sorry to be pestering you, I'm trying to hack out the best worst character I can manage, hopefully I'll have something to show for it soon!
