Um, they do eat eggs and drink milk. After all one or both are needed for most baking recipes.
What's to say there aren't some who like to eat fish, like the Pegasi?

True that. Like, Fluttershy takes care of a bear, right? They aren't herbivores.

My headcanon's always been that unicorns cast spells to transmute fruit and hay into meat to feed their non-herbivorous pets; I'm actually incorporating that headcanon into my fangame.

Huh, interesting, and not to terribly out there either. We've seen Twilight turn a frog into an orange (by accident), and she was certainly not the only powerful unicorn at the time. A talented unicorn with a cutie mark relating to transmutation could make millions easily. Hmm...
Idea = plausible.

Thanks   I plan on having an event in my fangame where Ponyville's rivers get flooded, keeping shipments of anything (including pet food) from getting into Ponyville.  That means that one unicorn employee at a pet food shop, who normally does custom transmutes, is the only source of meaty pet foods in town, and he gets tired fast...this is him; I based him on another Hasbro character named Baloney, from the 1998 Mr. Potato Head Show:
