Description
So, here's my complete sisters of battle army. It took about four years to finish, mainly due to my own laziness and other projects. It's hard to get a good photo of the whole force, but hopefully you can at least get an idea of what they look like.

Awesome work, the seraphim wings conversion is very cool.

Really nice... I'm starting to like Warhammer 40k a whole lot and The Sisters can probably become my favorite faction. I'm curious: Are there only metal miniatures available? Are there pros and cons to metal /plastic miniatures? So far I only have some plastic miniatures since I've just started collecting and painting miniatures.
One more thing: According to you, do you know why or if the Sisters are a bit... "poorly presented" compared to the other factions? The only codex I've seen for The Sisters so far was... pretty "meh"...

Thanks
As far as I know only metal miniatures are available for sisters. Back in the day metal minis were better looking (IMO) than the plastics in general. However, now it seems that plastic minis are pretty much as good looking (just take a look at the dark eldar range) while also being waaaaayyyyy easier to convert.
I guess sisters just don't sell enough for GW to make them stand out more. No sales, no presentation. They remain a bit of a curiosity I guess. As for the latest codex that was published in white dwarf, well, I haven't played a single game with my sisters since... Anyway, since the new 6th edition allows allies I think a few sister units might make a fun addition for another army.

A real shame, I find them to be a very inspiring faction, even though they're pretty much the most fanatical of what mankind has to offer (if I'm not mistaken). I suppose the "go to kitshen and makes I sandwitch woman lolz" attitude isn't helping too much. Seriously... Whenever I've tried finding lore on the Sisters I pretty much always end up on some freaking site where people are more interested in twisted pornography rather than actual lore, making it pretty damn hard for a "noob" like me to find some proper facts... Apparently it's very intriguing to the "fans" whether the Sisters "fall" (as they call it) to Slaanesh or not... I'm not too surprised though, as long as it looks "female", you can make pornography out of it. Fun! -.- I'm ranting.
So! Could you recommend some units for me? I'm probably going to order some Sisters as soon as I'm done with my other miniatures, are there any "easy to paint"/good "starters" units you could recommend for me?
Thanks for your time.

The fluff in the 3rd edition codex (their last proper book) is pretty good IMO, but you're right about the fanfic...
As for the minis, hmm, there really aren't any "easy to paint"-units as they all have basically the same heavily detailed power armor. However, since you're going to need a few troop units anyway I'd go for them. That is, your basic battle sisters. In fact, apart from the heavy weapons troops, sisters repentia and seraphim there really isn't much variation in the sisters line So get some basic sisters, some special weapons and maybe a sister superior and make yourself a battle sister squad. You could of course get them an immolator or rhino as transport if you like painting tanks.
Oh, and the excorcist tank is good on the tabletop, or so they say I never got one myself since the original tank looks rather odd IMO and the forge world variant, while nice looking, is pretty expensive. But anyway, check it out.
As for painting them, blacks, reds and whites seem to be popular (so if you wish to stand out steer clear of them ) IMO down-to-earth tones suit them well, metallics might be good too. Anyway, good luck with them and have fun!

The official games workshop model for the exorcist is really nice both to look at and to paint.
Fluff wise there's some in the newest rulebook to do with Sisters but the most of it is in the white dwarf issues with the sisters codex in them.
And your models look really nice, I wish I could paint as well

Thanks a lot for the advice, I'm probably going to get myself some Battle Sisters, a veteran (superior?), Repentias and a Mistress of Pain once I'm done with my old Chaos marines and Eldar guardians... If memory serves, the Exorcist looked really snazzy.. ^^ Instruments on it and all, I'm probably gonna get something like that if I ever get better at painting miniatures in general. I haven't really checked out all the orders yet, but I'm probably not going to pick the Red, Black & White, at least not before I know more about each order..
Again! Thanks for the info, have a good one!

Nice!
I dropped everything and started collecting SOB when they first came out.
I can field 200 Sisters plus 5 tanks, 20 Seraphim, 20 Retributors, and then HQ.
Plus Assassins, Librarians, Inquisition, etc...
I like to use big blocks of troops (20). They soak up a ton of damage and can dish some out in return.
Whirlwinds, they gotta be used in tandem, otherwise they don't do too much.
Good stuff!

Not being a WH40K player myself, but more of a Dawn of War player, I really love the work you've put into these.
The drybrushing on the tanks is great, I especially like the way you've personalised them and named them (though personally I would have given them latin names).
I always used to paint WH40K models when I was in my early teens and you, my friend have inspired me to grab a box of Battle Sisters and get painting again!

LMAO Ja NYT mä tajuun et puhut suomee. XD Helvetin hieno armeija, mahtoi olla aika urakka vaikka noin isolle aikavälille jaettu. Just itse aloittelen oman mariini ja/tai Tyranid armeijan väsäämistä (ostin Tyranid armeijaboksin, mut sit hankittiin kaverin kaa Black Reach boxi ja mariineist tulee nyt sit mun #1 armeija. XP ).

Kiitoksia.

Thanks As for advice on the sisters, go for the units you like the most (be it their appearance or game effectiveness, but do not just go to a random 40K-forum and pick a ready-made, tournament tested min-maxed army list, that's just plain uncreative...)
Really, it all depends on your preferences. I for one like the pure SoB-force without any inquisitorial forces.
As for painting them, first of all try to pick a color scheme that you like. The GW's black-red-white scheme is quite obvious, but almost any combination of those colors suit the sisters well. Of course, if you wish to create a completely new color scheme then go for it! I'd just try to stay away from too bright or "happy" colors though.

No problem...
My sister of battle army isn't as highly detailed as yours, no way near to be honest..but yeah
My one has Gold for the armour and Red for the cloth, going for a Cosdondians (sp?) look..
Can't wait for more pictures.
