I'm really not too happy with this one, but I had very little to go off for what exactly to do with him...his character only has maybe 4 or 5 scenes across 4 episodes or so. At any rate, all mechanical pencil as usual, 4 hours as usual, and...two more to go!

It's a shame Sloth gets a late intro, he's probably the Homonculi that interests me the most.
Plus, it's funny to think he's voiced by the guy who does Scorpion in the recent MK games. (Patrick Seitz)

In the English version of the show? I have a hard time watching most anime (other than Pokemon and DBZ, of course) dubbed. He was an interesting character, though. His appearance, outside of what he was doing, was almost filler episode material...was kind of sad. He had a bit more focus in Brotherhood than the other Sloth did in the original animated series, though. Thanks for the favorite .

I haven't see the other anime (though my friend assures me I made the right choice with Brotherhood) but I have that version of Sloth. She doesn't look very "Sloth-y", more like a milder version of Lust. :/
I'm just glad to see this Sloth got some appreciation.

great series of pics...i love the humunculus...but...i havent been a very good FMA fan when it comes to brotherhood...i like it...just havent gotten around to seeing much of it...so i have a question...are ed and als mom(after death) and izumi's son not in brotherhood or what? cause i really liked both characters and they went well with the story line as humunculi...so yeah???

Izumi's son, as far as I remember, is not in Brotherhood. I'm less positive about Ed and Al's mother, but I'm pretty sure she's not involved either. Sloth, obviously, isn't an incarnation of her . And Wrath is Pride from the original series. I would honestly highly suggest marathoning Brotherhood. Once you break past the first 10 episodes (because they're similar to the original series), you'll be hooked in how much more interesting the story gets.

The Fuhrur is Wrath instead, in Brotherhood. He fits the role quite well...and Pride's replacement is by far a better iteration of the human aspect, as you'd see should you watch . Plus, Envy gets a far more fleshed out role in Brotherhood, as well as Greed and Gluttony, while Sloth gets a BIG role (though very brief), and Lust ends up no longer present fairly early in the series. But, her death is very fantastic and mind-wrenching, just as everything in the series is. Tugs at the emotions and thought-process a whole lot more than the original did.

Well, technically speaking, his character is literally dumb. But he embodies the essence of Sloth, which is lazy, slow, and dumb...I'd honestly look into maybe a different nickname x).
The fight Sloth has with Armstrong and the Elrick Brother's mentor's husband is really, really epic.

i always liked it i am probably the only person in the world that has that nickname...by choice anyway haha, i think i got it cause i had green hair(moss sometimes grows on sloths fur making them look green) and just sat there drawing all day...my hair isn't green anymore, but it stuck haha.
you keep acidently telling me things...you've already told me lust dies early on...now this... haha

Even though he's an incredibly flat character, I STILL prefer him over the first anime's Sloth. The true embodiment of "Sloth", in terms of his sloth speech, and in terms of squandering his potential as one of the most powerful homonculi.
Also, I keep thinking that Sloth looks like a far more macho Envy.

Well... Wouldn't a bit of "lazy" character development be appropriate for him? (Since most of the others are developed well in contrast.)

I barely remember the original anime's Sloth, so I'd have to agree that this guy stood out more. He was rather impressive when he finally entered the game, I just found it difficult to really care much for him since he held such little appearance throughout the show. His little bit did pack quite the bang, though.
I'm going to have to ignore the Envy comment, since Envy holds my game for favorite .

Sloth was apparently Ed and Al's mom... or at least, the human transmutation very of her... She represents of codename by being lazy with who she deals with, preferring to suffocate her victims then fight them with her water powers. She also would rather kill the Elric brothers indirectly then be forced to confront them and her own past. She also had this weird thing with Wrath where Wrath thinks she's his mother for some reason... It's almost like Gluttony, only not as sad in my book.
Although Sloth does very little and doesn't have AS much to do screentime-wise, what I HAVE seen of him did leave more of an impact on me... I guess I'm just a sucker for the big brute type...
Also, I didn't mean that as an insult, Sloth literally looks like he's wearing Envy's wardrobe, only it barely fits because he's so big. That's always been a problem with me, I was always annoyed that even though Envy's main form was that of a man, his outfit looks really feminine in the way it covers his chest and how the second piece looks more like a skirt then pants (like what Sloth wears). Envy's hair and even his voice doesn't help matters.

Yeah, I remember trying to Google references for the Sloth drawing before I gave up and just found the episodes with him, and used a good still for the picture. A lot of the mother showed up in Google, and I guess I just blocked that part of the original show out. I could have sworn that Lust was created by their human taboo, and that SHE looked like their mother...but I think I'm recalling her, now. Original Wrath was just annoying, there wasn't a way to feel sad for him .
And no insult taken, just sarcastic melodrama . I always had an issue distinguishing between his gender being male or female myself until I saw someone refer to him as a he. To be honest, I think that was more of an on purpose thing than anything else. He can be whatever he wants, but instead chooses to be this ambiguous person as his true self. I'm sure that it has some form of meaning. A lot of things in this anime that seem unimportant end up being fairly high-depth things.

I had a hard time finding any sort of reference points for Sloth...so I just skimmed through each episode he was in, and found a capture point that I felt best suited his "Oh, bother..." mindset, and kinda lazily threw it together. Thanks for the appreciation, though .

My favorite's always been Envy, which is definitely making him the hardest to conventionalize (which is why I'm saving him for last). I can see Sloth being a favorite, though. His lack of appearance and dialogue sort of make him the "Boba Fett (Star Wars)" of FMArotherhood, except instead of being bad ass he's goofy and admirable in a sense.

I thought the Wrath from the first anime was a good example of the sin since wrath meant fury, rage, uncontrolled anger. And the same goes for the Brotherhood incarnation of Sloth. Sloth was lazy, tired, and he'd rather do nothing than anything. I liked him allot, even his quote "What a pain." lol

Yeah, I thought Sloth made a great representation of what he was supposed to be...he was just my least favorite (alongside Greed) in the series, probably due to his lack of representation. I do have to say, I really did love his final fight, though. More so for the hilarity of it all than how he died.
