Always a good idea, but in this photo the carpet's actually clean, just a bit tousled from me moving my chair about.

Heh, I always liked the way glass tables look, but I needed a wooden one for two reasons: 1) got tired of cleaning the glass ones and 2) I need something I can stand on while decorating the walls!

Wow, seems like a lot of people aren't OCD enough to understand the detail, kinda like it - makes me think of Fight Club with the IKEA scene

.... yes, yes it is overkill.

I'm partial to Sennheiser for headphones, personally. Never did like Bose.

There was a time when I would be impressed by a display like this, nowadays however I just think the scrap value is zero because its all completely out of date.

If I remember correctly, you have a gigantic display and some true professional tools. I'm a student and this is easily the best I can afford (a great deal of my money goes into it).

excuse me but two 44 inch screens both set on 1280x960 can hardly be unreasonable if like me you are 90% blind.

I didn't say they were unreasonable! I said gigantic! There's a big difference. I envy your monitors. I also really hope my eyes don't go down that path as well...I've had/have cataracts, glaucoma, and strabismus, which can all lead to blindness.

I hope you don't go the same way either my friend. I was a student once myself ok that was many years ago and being a multimillionaire now does not stop me empathisig with you butr to put every item of hardware you own up with a price ticket attached is bound to upset some of the people that can't afford such. I myself just outfitted a school with Intel I7 hardware, I know the difficulties involved keeping peoples mouths shut.

Wow!! That's very cool. What type of school was it?

I attach the prices to document it, because I'm somewhat OCD in that way...not to show off or anything like that. For this last Christmas I actually spent a month's income to replace my parents' garage door, which had caved in on itself and was unusable (and they couldn't afford to do it since keeping the house is hard enough us these last few years). So, my electronics are my escape rather than spending that money on clubbing or alcohol or something, but I still have my priorities.

karanua In reply to kproductions [2011-06-06 06:53:29 +0000 UTC]

just about all of it, everytime you get something new as a consumer you can garantee the'll roll out something better within the month.

Oh well that's true regardless, then. I update when I can and as parts start to give me bottlenecks. I know some people that buy absolutely every new thing (and relative to 99% of the people I know, I do this, too), and I know others that intentionally stick to older tech and software. To each their own, I guess.

Like me for instance lol, I stick to older tech just keep the software up to date.
