My part of a trade\gift to .
I asked if I could color one of his pictures and chose this one...cause there's just something I like about it.
We decided some icey colors would look way cool.
The shading was done completely with the dodge and burn tool. No special shading here :sigh:. Although I count dodge\burn as something I should avoid completely, I did like the effect on the fur.
Actually last night I just thought I'd see what the head would look like colored and ended up doing the entire picture. Got to bed at ohhhh....about 4:30 this morning

Well it depends upon what you do.
I've been self teaching Photoshop now for about a year and a bit. I had a huge phase of using it every night to make my pictures, plus tutorials help.
You do Photonip's (Photo Manipulation) so you probably use Masks and effects more than me.
Because I do alot of character art I'd use effects like multiply and brush settings.

Whoa, it looks really nice. And you even colored over the outline! While blending the colors in real nicely. The light and shadows are pretty well done as well. And the fur texture is quite lovely

The outline actually has an opacity of about 2-3%.
It helped a little bit.
