Hey NP. Β Some of my unpublished pixel stuff goes back to the early '90s, Β and some of my concepts (pen and ink) bak to the Mid '80s.
Back then I thought I was the only one with this kind of weird obsession.

There's a small community lying around nowadays, actually. I imagine back in the 80's that belief of yours was because of the lack of instant communications?

Yeah, pretty much. Β Ah, the eighties. Β I was a college student at the time (with more academic focus). Β The Early PCs (IBM or Macs) were stand-alone affairs with floppy discs, found mostly in computer labs. There were no (affordable) laptops. Β I was introduced to pixel art via Macintosh PCs, which had a cutting-edge monochrome paint program. Β But the average student had some flavor of TI calculator, and the Engineering students had the reverse polish HP calculators (which I never quite figured out how to use). Β And of course, only digital landline phones (woo hoo!).

Heh. I was born in 98 myself, graduating from high school this year. It's nice to see that there are indeed people from before the 90's interacting on the internet beyond facebook and news sites Β

Back then there was no www before the '90s ('cept those cats at CERN cobbling it together). Β  Just some PCs that had modems installed that sent text messages back & forth using some kind of DOS app to talk to each other (Like AOL). Β You had to use your landline ph connection and use their network (If you were a business you set up a dedicated line with the ph company).Β

That sounds a bit tedious.Β

It was, but you didn't miss what you did not know about.Β  So, instead of googling to solve a computer problem, you made friends with a local "techie" who knew the ropes (Back then the term geek was derogatory).Β  Ironically, computer issues were more of a social activity at that time than now.Β  Today the social aspects are more about non-technical issues (i.e., Facebook, blogging, etc).

well, I recommend the website juniorgeneral.org and it's forums, it runs on a unified scale of 36px/meter and has a lot of resources to help someone make sprites, but it's highly recommended that you credit anyone who's stuff you use, including poses lol.
