Description
The Reik-class, already being an anomaly in the fleet as most instances are owned by the Army, is unique in several ways. Firstly, and perhaps most notably, is the presence of massive communications arrays, allowing rapid transmission as well as an active scanning system. Another anomaly are the three protrusions on the bottom; Ultra-heavy drop pods manufactured by Outreach aerospace, acting as FOB's during invasions, supported by the immense firepower of the mothership, which includes six instances of heavy quad mounts, a heavy chin mount, and a disproportionate amount of standard armament. One may raise the question of why it is not used as a line ship, and the answer to that lies in two problems; Firstly, the ammo reserves of the ship's weapons are relatively low compared to ships-of-the-line, and secondly, the armor of the ship is only strong on the keel. Despite this, there is an active project to convert some instances into craft intended to harass battle lines.
