Description
She is at the end chasing her own fading lightrunning from her shadow in the name of living
searched for worth in the lust of men
paid in blood in different beds
mistaking sex for true love
they never meant a thing
her addiction brought her a world
of coward boys and of cheater girls
looking for an easy way out of being ordinary
so she boarded their sinking ship
and crossed their red needle sea
drowning truth to live her lie
that she was ordinary
in her fading shadow.
The biggest lie of all. The man with the gun is a metaphor of the anger he'd feel.Thanks to the models; ~enfermero , Charlotte and Tuukka.

Interesting concept and great composition but I think that's too bad the symbol of the state of mind of the character is only based on the gun. Maybe with a composition with a miror showing his face wud have been interesting too! N E way, great job!

In this case, I wanted to capture many feelings as simply as possible.
Anger, lust, betrayal.
But maybe the expression on the man's face would have given more depth to this image.

Motion blur realy ruins this for me. I undestand how dificult it must have been to work with so little light but the fact it is doesnt look good like this.
On a side note, i realy dont think that chain works well in the mood of the set.

i think the blurryness works werry well in this picture because it adds a movement and dynamism to it. i can imagine either the photographer's hands shaking with anger or it being a quick snapshot before entering the action myself. I whink it work great, the only thing I would have done to add to the tension of the picture is to cock the gun (e.g. pull the hammer into back position). that way it would look ready to fire.
oh yea, one detail i really love: the chain on his trousers. its the only thing you can see on his dark shape and it adds a lot of symbolism about his feelings.

Good point, I didn't think about it while shooting, but pulling the hammer back would have been a good idea.

Hmmm.. Nice idea, the shadow would have been very dynamic effect and given the photo more depth.

THATS messed up! Shes a ho! I like this piece! Raises alot of issues...like gun control... yes she is a slut but she doesnt deserve to die... this pic also shows a human beings weakness of falling in love and being emotionally destroyed... thats were gun control steps in, when a person is fragile, they dont think properly and society's love of the guns and violence allows this broken man to be driven to commit murder easily. I also like how the young man has a chain on his jeans thus adding a 'bad boy' image to the picture... I could go on, but that would take me hours... NICE PIECE!

I wish i could comment with constructive critisicm on this but I cant think of anything wrong with it. I love this. This is excactly how I felt when I was cheated on and its the way I still feel so this means alot to me. I only favour work i realy like the concept of. This shall be one of my faves.

You have a talent for powerful images
This in particular, with the use of b/w thus not distracting the viewer with colour, the proximity of the cheated lover (I am assuming) right next to the camera all combines to convey much meaning.
The only thing that bothers me slightly is how fuzzy the guy right next to the camera is. . . I would have thought he would be perfectly in focus. But thats just me

The bad focus (which I really tried to fix many times) is because of my crappy camera. And even photoshop didn't do it so I'm hopeless.

I'm also using a crappy camera, so I completely sympathise with you. Its always a bugger when a good picture such as this isn't as you want it because of the camera - and there is nothing you can do. Ah well, I think you did a great job anyway, no problem at all
